Yeah it can cause ur car to jerk. But on all conditions, not only during cold. Faulty ignition coil can cause heavy jerking too. If ur car is using spark plug cables (just for general knowledge as all Persona/PEs uses ignition coil), check if the spark plug cable is melted or came in contact with some metal parts in the car as this may cause short circuit & as the appropriate voltage is not sent to the spark plugs, it may cause ignition retardation, thus causing the jerkings.

Dun have. But if ur ignition coil kaput it can give the same effect also.

Have I told u the case where my car got scratched? I went did something really drastic & painful to all 3 of that farker's car. Then the other day when I was going to get my car going to work, he came ask me if I know who scratched his car. So many ppl there don't ask come ask me? confirm he kantoi Liao la.. Scratched ppl car then when his car got scratched he thought ppl payback.. Padahal memang I payback pun. LOL

Today just Service my car just changed:

1. lub
2. filter
3. auto transmission oil
4. Belt. (This is the one that cause the tak tak tak sound during my cold start)
5. Clean my Throttle body.
6. Tune my car.

After tune, my car fuel peddle become softer lol. Pickup improve. When start my car, the rpm boost to 2k then come down to 1k.

Lastly the worker told me. "kalau makan minyak datang balik ya" =.=

Hi all, I have a few questions regarding PE. Hopefully experts here can clear my doubt.

1) If I were to maintain my car's warranty, do I need to send my car to Proton SC for 15k km service (i.e. 25k, 35k etc)? I noticed they cop at the back of my service booklet for my 15k km.

2) Does changing to performance air filter and spark plugs void my car's warranty? How about using own lube (assuming the proton SC allows me to bring own lube)

3) My PE is one of the earliest batch (I bought when it's just launched). One morning I couldn't start my car. After trying a few times (step on gas pedal and let off, then crank), it worked...the rpm was low..and engine chocking like no air. I stepped on the gas pedal and it's OK afterward...but the "check engine" icon on the dashboard lightened up. I drove to an authorized SC immediately and they diagnosed the ECU. They told me to go main Proton SC to upgrade my ECU firmware. Anyone of you faced this problem before?

1. have to send to SC to maintain your warranty. your warranty cover until 50k. so you have to go back until 50k. If you got extended warranty until 175k provided by alliance insurance then you need to go back to SC until 175k. Service it outside will void your warranty. The booklet can change once it finish. Don worry. 

2.No because it is wear and tear item for Air filter and Spark plug. For lub will void warranty. But most of us here don care. Some of us bring our own lub also. Don use cheap lub can already.

3. I am driving Persona not Elegance. Try check your crank sensor and ask them to check your ECU also. PE got ECU bug and need to flash to newer firmware. Go main Proton SC at your state and upgrade. Upgrade time i think is 2hours if no internet break down.

the persona brake pedal needs to be pressed a lot, only then the braking effect can be felt....which is unlike other car.

is that normal?

Thanks for answering. At 20k km service, if not mistaken, we need to change air filter and spark plug. Can I reject theirs?
I had sent my car to upgrade the firmware. I haven't notice much changes (in fact I noticed the engine a bit heavier after that). Hopefully it solved it. They didn't check my crank sensor though. Are they manage to diagnose that part?
How do you know it's still under warranty? You asked the SC whether 15k (and also 25k, 35k etc) km is mandatory to be serviced by them? If do outside, much cheaper?

PE headlight way too low. was heading back hometown on friday night.

2 lanes highway, the right lanes was closed down to 1 lane only by using cones, more than 1KM distance. It was so dark and i only able to see max 4 cones downwards at the front. While opposite has car coming, I can't use high beam.

Thats fully synthetic.. But very rare to get that kind of engine oil lah.. Cos most of the FS oil have very good winter grades.. So they can go 0/5W..

all bro..my pe wil make sounds like ffeeeee....when i am above 80kmh..like electric/airplane sounds..the more i accelerate the more louder,  but it was not that much noise because i only found out when i driving on less car highway with all a/c , fan, and radio off then can hear the noise more easy. What the problem? Gearbox? the sounds is weak but still u can hear

how mcuh it cost and when launching oh?dunno proton will launch the package to BOT for our PE or not

thx. self taken in a basement carpark with iphone cam, then use software to touch up and sharpen the photo a bit. i always feel if persona is a bit wider, it will look just nice
the car is now slightly over 2 years old, time really flies but still happy driving it. really step on the pedal everyday to and back from work hehe and the FC keeps getting better now. not sure if it's due to more than 60K mileage d or the tyre wearing off less friction haha. time to change tyres now, don't feel confident driving on wet roads at all now... thinking of Michelin XMS2 or Primacy LC. gonna cost me at least 1k for whole set of tyres but safety should be more important.

wa! can let them do bot on for us then i will start saving already! =D
