RC gutter for beam need 12" x 12" to put in 3" pipe. That is the recommend for my contractor. Anything bigger will weaken the beam

It depend which location you put, in front or back of your house. Only gutter or included the pipe too?

reason if pipe also hidden mean that your internal will have a beam around one of the corner, which may limit your place. (Example is your wash room)

Whether it is exposed gutter or conceal gutter, you will still be able to collect the rain water for recycling. It just how you divert the downpipes. smile.gif

you do not have to use pipe in the beam if you can design your roof intelligently. basically you will have an exposed gutter but cannot be seen from the road due to the architectural features of your roof.

The biggest advantage of conceal gutter is the tendency of chock is lesser as compare to expose type.

Am surprise with that statement; as from what I know, gutters get clog due to lack of maintenance. The leaves getting into the gutter and ends up clogging the outlet. Some of the leaves could also enter into the downpipes. If there are bends in the downpipes, rainwater gets blocked thus causing overflowing of rainwater from the gutter.
One way that has been used frequently to prevent leaves from getting into the gutter is gutter guard. The wire mesh prevents the leaves from falling into the gutter.

Even with this, regular maintenance is still required to remove those dead leave that are not blown away.

You are right about the reason of clog. Thus a conceal gutter with dome shape outlet could reduce the tendency of clogging.
Your wire mesh is one of the solution for open gutter type.
And definitely regular maintenance play a major role too.
