My sylphy come with original panasonic 6cd hu which is lack of bass,
Also no aux/line in for link the navigator together.

( hu connected with 4 speakers & navigator sound from separate 2 tweeters.)
Think of connect navigator with hu amplified sound output.
I found original hu not enough bass, not sure is due to hu or speakers.

Any advice to this ?
But no sure how is sound quality, also original speaker can fit in or not.

Should i change hu (how about clarion cx501a), or add component set only ?

The hu has the bass and treble control from -5 to +5 range but i fixed at bass +5(max) & treble +5 also.
But the output i should said treble is acceptable and the bass are dispointed. Some forum quoted as source are weak in bass . Need more opinion instead of spend the money to testing.

In the case of change the hu, any user can share, what model in 2din is better...
Maybe budget below 1.5k, also consider of nissan promotion of trade in to clarion cx501a; not to void the new car warranty and add 2 years additional warranty to new hu.

if u insist wanna change hu, maybe u should get a ISO jack to connect to ur car wiring without cutting it since i believe the clarion you are using should come with the ISO jack. This wont void the warranty :>

I agree with howie. If you dun plan to add anything else, speaker change will give you the best returns. Slightly better HU on stock speaker wont help much.

May consider an inductor coil to add on your door speaker..... Which will improve your bass slightly....

Add an active subwoofer?
Since you mention that the midrange and high frequency is ok.

As we know, Nissan Sylphy navigator are Tan Chong Motor in house product made by TCAC (TC Auto Tooling Sdn Bhd (TCAT), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tan Chong Motor Holding Bhd. Featuring a 7-inch (800 x 480) LCD touchscreen sourced from Samsung, the Multimedia Navigator combines a GPS navigation system, reversing camera, and music/video playback. For inputting of maps and multimedia material, the unit is connectible by SD card, USB, and an AUX-IN connector which supports DVD/MP3 players, camcorders, and even Playstations.

Although the Multimedia Navigator offers music & video playback, it does not feature direct integration with the Sylphy's audio head unit. This is deliberate, as TCAT does not wish to tamper with the Sylphy's existing hardware, which simultaneously explains why this system is currently not offered for the Latio and Grand Livina. Installation of the system into these models require the removal of their existing HUs.

As a result of this constraint, audio playback from the unit has to be presented to occupants via an in-built FM transmitter sending signals to the car's radio. Although such a setup reeks of 'aftermarket-ness', the overall installation of the unit was neat, as the LCD screen gave the Sylphy's dash a significant lift in class.

So, conclusion.. Navigator & Head Unit are difference systems.. If I not mistaken HU also from Clarion & only Changer using Panasonic... That why TC recommend Clarion CX501a coz no need to cut any wire (same socket as factory).. just plug & play..

If we change the speaker to CX 501a can we connect both system( cx501a and navigotar ) to the same speakers.?

Nope advisable coz each equipment send signal to speaker...

I have Pioneer P80RS, DLS Iridium 6.2 and DLS Ultimate A8 which I am planning to install onto my ride.

should have, however if the main source (the navi) doesnt process your analog signals well, your p80 *may* be wasted. unless of course it sends digital signals like digital (or optical, talking sorta from a home entertainment/audiophile perspective) to the p80 THEN have the p80 to process it instead, then it will be good.

I think can connect to P80RS.. If U intend to play MP3 song or watch Video via USB at Navi, P80RS (AUX-IN) can produce audio but each equipment work independent...

It is a compress audio source. Even with optical, it won't improve the audio quality. I just don't want to bring around my CD album anymore and I can leave with compress audio quality already.

yes you are correct. however my point was on emphasis that the navi system may degrade the sound quality of said compressed source, while going through say, optical, retains it, and the p80 process that digital source instead of a degraded AND compressed source.

The speakers in sylphy like typical OEM is really low in quality. It is rated 30watts max so my guess is that the HU is also rated the same.
If you want better change the HU and the speakers.

I just got the confirmation email from TCAT that the Navi unit does has a Aux-in&out.

I am not sure why I would ever use the IN but good to know.

Anyway, I just send my P80RS for service(the volume know loose) and ordered my IP-BUS-RCA interconnect. I can only do up my ICE once my HU is back.
