QUOTE(kingkingyyk @ Jul 19 2011, 03:44 PM) You can just send your son to government chinese school (If possible). ic.... this will help a lot when i make decision...Then for secondary school, I highly recommend you to send him to private chinese secondary school. SMK/SK, the teaching style is very lazy compared to chinese schools, I admit, kinda regret to study in government secondary school, but I got no chance to enroll in private chinese secondary school, the fee is load for my parents. I'm in form 6 now, the learning style is no longer like in lower/upper secondary, no more spoon feeding. It is actually something like I was in primary school, where you have to use your brain to think instead of memorizing for exam. |

QUOTE(cassie_90 @ Jul 19 2011, 03:33 PM) I've seen Kuen Cheng bus at USJ 17 before. I saw my sister's application form before, the school claimed that they have 6-8 buses travel around KL & Selangor everyday. Furthermore, i remember it stated there that the school provides hostel, and it can fit in 500 students. ic.. i will check more detail with the school. but my problem now is how to let him enroll.... |

Kuen Cheng primary = co-ed
Kuen Cheng sec = girls only F1-F5 - this is a problem for those unable to afford pre-u college with no choice but to go to F6. The Min of Edu is very inconsiderate here - they just dump them like orphans to any F6 schools with leftover places, so KC girls may be put in schools far away from their house, for e.g., Gombak or Setapak. |

BU Puay Chai is favorite for parents who are professionals, even yellow banana who went to missionary schools. in some cases, indian parents.
But waiting list is 3 years, even if you have BU address, there is no guarantee...I got a neighbor who had to pay RM1.2mil so buy a house in Bdr Utama in order to get a BU address...and his kid is only 2 years old. Most parents opt for Chinese primary, but for sec schools - they send to SM schools or overseas (Singapore, Australia). This post has been edited by md11: Jul 19 2011, 05:02 PM |

It doesn't matter which school he is enrolled in be it private or a government school. It really depends on his ability to adapt to his studying environment, your son would have to be academically competitive if he were to be enrolled in a private Chinese school. Well, that's my 2 cents on this matter, nonetheless I wish him the best of luck on his undertakings.

QUOTE(samuelC @ Jul 19 2011, 04:34 PM) LOL! First of all its a chinese high school, ur son need to have a good chinese foundation..If not it's pretty hard to catch up with the syllabus. Since ur son is still standard 2, you dont need to be panic so fast. Children tend to grow time to time,so dont be too subjective ok. |
