3) WiFi
4) not too heavy, not too big, not too thick
5) can view Office document

Samsung Galaxy Ace would be a suitable candidate. Just make sure u have data plan for retrieving email if wifi availability is limited. Price is surely below rm800, got wifi, weigh 113g only, for viewing and editing office documents, can search the apps in Market. More info here
Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 and lyt community here.

A better choice would would be Xperia Neo V, u can get it as cheap as RM785, from the above user.
This model much better in hardware and will get ICS update later rclxms.gif

Suggest u topup n get galaxy W. But regarding no.5, im nt sure can or not but i think in android market there can find 1. If u insist in staying within ur budget, suggest u get

-huawei ideos x5
-SE live wit walkman(AP set)
-SE xperia mini/mini pro(ori set)(NOT x10 mini/mini pro)
-SE xperia x10(AP set)

But if u insist on samsung and wanna stay within ur budget, u can go for galaxy ace. Im using 1, a bit laggy at times n hav small internal storage space btw. Some apps cannot be moved to sd card, but generally the internal storage space is enough if u r a light user. Im selling a new unit, u can check out my siggy below if u interestd smile.gif

Brand :SE , Samsung (preferably SE)
Budget : Below RM700
Specs : Android, good camera , decent battery
Type/Size : small as possible
Model in my mind : Xperia Mini pro BUt i was wondering if i can get some opinions on the xperia mini

as there has been many bad reviews as there are good ones , i just want a phone with some basic apps (fb , internet radio , whatsapp) , probably some video watching ,  not much on games , mostly to use as a phone and music player .

And since i never owned a smart phone b4 , i'v heard about some problems installing apps in memcard can the Mini do that ?

xPeria mini is just like any of the android phone produce by SE. Just that it has a smaller form factor. You can unleash it's full potential by rooting the phone.

I suggest you look for HTC phone as a beginner. Their User Interface is more friendly, Sense. Check out something like HTC Aria. It's small and pretty decent performance.
