To be fair, the value of both teams' spending cannot be deduced yet, because we havent seen the new buys play on a regular basis for their new team.

1) Henderson and Jones are both GAMBLEs, despite what united and pool fans may think. Its always a gamble to buy youngsters at such a high price.

2) Ashley Young v Downing - I have to say on paper Young looks the better buy, but again, new team, new style of play. It could go either way.

3) Charlie Adam - Scoring 12 goals and 8 Assists in all competition for Blackpool (a relegated team) seems pretty darn decent in my opinion.

4) David De Gea I would say can also go either way, he conceded 53 goals last season and 28 goals in 19 games the previous season in the La Liga. Man U only conceded 37 goals all season last season and 28 goals the previous season.

So to determine which party has the better business value, we'd have to see how the season pans out. I wont say liverpool have the better deal, because I will obviously be biased in deducing everything.

Liverpool threaten to cut United's ticket allocation for Anfield clash

Manchester United fans face seeing their ticket allocation for October's Barclays Premier League clash with Liverpool slashed by more than a third because of 'persistent standing' issues at Anfield.

A report submitted to Liverpool City Council has recommended cutting the visiting supporters' capacity from 3,015 to 1,965 in an attempt to combat the problem of people blocking gangways.

The Ground Safety Advisory Group, who compiled the report after match between the two sides in April, suggest problems with United fans at Anfield are far greater than those of other visiting clubs.

'Pictures were presented which showed how the gangways at that game were affected compared to a similar high-profile game where persistent standing also occurred.

'The actions of the Manchester United supporters had overwhelmed the reasonable operations of the stewards through the management plan.

'This is an escalation of the actions of the supporters from previous games.

'It is not clear what more the club can reasonably do through stewarding measures to ensure spectators do not encroach in to gangways.

'Spectators from other away clubs attending the ground also persistently stand.

'However they do not spread out in to the gangways to the same extent that the Manchester United spectators do.'

Liverpool City Council's licensing committee will make a final decision on the proposal at a meeting on August 8.
