I think we need a world class defender like agger. If agger is fit he will be picked above skrtel to pair with carra.Thats my best defence pairing.
One of the reasons we didnt win in 08-09 was because of agger being injured for most of the time.Kyrgiakos is decent back up but not good enough play every game.
But keeping agger to play for full season isnt likely going by his past records.Thats why we need a good defender.Personally i would sell skrtel along
with other deadwoods(poulsen, jova, degen) to raise money for a top class CB like cahill.

Still not happy about our deadwood situation.poulsen+jova+maxi+cole+insua could get us about 10-12million.
Can use this money for a cb.Money for lb however should come from owners. The important aspect of selling the dross is freeing up the wage bill rather than
the money we get for them.

QUOTE(jason18689 @ Jul 31 2011, 09:34 PM) Naive Jova got for free... Maxi got for free.. Cole was free too! Poulsen 3 million i guess... And now you want to sell them and roughly guess to have 10 to 12 million profit? Guess you would be the only buyer =.=" Getting rid of them for free is already good enough! Still want money coming in for the players that comes in free earlier stage? Like i said,it is more important to free up the wage bill.Cole cost us 5million sign on fee.We are not making any profit.Just recouping some of the money spent. Maxi getting 50-60k a week.no wonder he is happy to stay.I swear till this day i donno what people see in him Poulsen also 5million. if we get 10million is fantastic.Insua value i think is 2-3million and jova also i think can get 2million

Manchester City record-signing Sergio Aguero has revealed his affection for Liverpool, but stopped short of saying he was a genuine supporter of the Reds.
The Argentina international secured a £38 million switch from Atletico Madrid from City last week, and will fulfil a long-held ambition of playing in the Barclays Premier League.
Aguero does, however, have a soft-spot for Liverpool - which will surely be quickly forgotten by City fans - and was particularly impressed by the Merseysiders during the famous 2005 Champions League triumph.
Liverpool fought back from three-goals down against AC Milan during that night in Istanbul, and went on to triumph in a dramatic penalty shoot-out.
And Aguero was fully behind the Reds as they heroically fought their way back into the glorious encounter; cheering every Liverpool goal in the process.
“I used to like Liverpool and remember watching their Champions League final,” Aguero told ESPN.
“I cheered every goal as they made their comeback. So yes, I liked Liverpool, but to say I was a fan is a bit too strong.”
Meanwhile, Aguero has seen himself compared to Argentinian legend Diego Maradona - perhaps, in part, because he is married to the great man's daughter.
The young striker, however, rejects claims that he is similar to Maradona, although is flattered by the comparisons.
"I can only smile because these guys just don't know what they are saying," added the 23-year-old.
"Diego was a one-off, the all-time great who can never be matched. I know I can play, but do not say I'm the new Maradona.
"He was a magician with a ball at his feet, a leader, a total inspiration to him team-mates. No one, I repeat no-one, could have transformed Argentina and Napoli like he did all those years ago."

QUOTE(ayam001 @ Aug 4 2011, 12:37 AM) According to a swedish newspaper, Torres has said: ' Liverpool has no bright future'. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=227...0&type=1&ref=nfCan we just forget him and ignore whatever he says.besides we dont know swedish so i think his statement might have been blown out of proportion. after all thats sensational journalism to increase readership.

QUOTE(AskarPerang @ Aug 7 2011, 11:49 PM) Nah season not yet started. It's not three points. Just a worthless match for a piece of silverware. I know. But scoring last minute really dampened my confidence. But i still think we can win against either of them.We have a superior midfield compared to any team in the league.Games are won in midfield.

Masterpiece by kenny.Solve our left back problem,he's spanish so reina wont feel out of place and knows carroll so wont have problem linking up.
Also he is very fast.According to wikipedia he had to choose at one point whether to continue in sprinting or play football.
To sum up the recent transfer,i feel good about downing and enrique but i have my doubts about adam and henderson.

QUOTE(bearbear @ Aug 11 2011, 09:13 PM) the only transfer i raised my eye brown so far is Henderson but what the heck, he's young and we have many options. Other than that the signing makes a lot of sense. Business close for us? I think there is one more.Might be a centre back or striker but i feel that more likely is centre back coz john henry tweeted about ngog staying so i guess ngog is decent 4th choice striker.

QUOTE(Everdying @ Aug 11 2011, 10:46 PM) we're not man city... we don't buy 20m players in henderson and downing then put them on the bench Well, aquilani is 20million,meireles is 11mil and glen johnson is 18million.So you cant be sure who is gonna start and where they gonna play. I think this is the best part.We will be an unpredictable team and managers of rivals will find it difficult to prepare against us during their training.
