Lol, no. You just put the 'dload' folder into the root of your SD Card, then boot into the 'pink screen' (Press and hold Vol +/- and Power button together when boot). It'll update itself.

MIUI already got that feature in yerterday's kernel update. And it works great. But if you're waiting for franco.Kernel, then the good news is he'll be releasing something for us today.
