Any recommended bluetooth adaptors then can work out of the box and can be purchased locally? Seems like the only option is to order online..haha

Haha, did it right before I went to bed so havent booted in -v yet..have some ideas from some quick googling to fix this..hopefully all goes well tonight..worst case scenario I did a time machine backup before so can just reinstall..Will update later... |

QUOTE(miramar @ Nov 5 2012, 11:44 AM) If you can boot up with -x then most likely one of 2 things. Oh I did try safemode...no go...will try again tonight....Its a Gigabyte Z77P-D3 and a I5-3470k and a Radeon 6850.1. Oemsmbios.kext 2. VT-d needs to be disabled What board and CPU are you using? |

QUOTE(miramar @ Nov 5 2012, 07:54 PM) Whoops sorry its non K, it does have VT-d support.I couldnt get it working anyway, it wasn't OemSMBIOS....I tried various things but still didnt work..very strange..... The furthest I could get it was till it was stuck in the grey screen with the pattern behind...booting with -v ran all the way through. this was when I used the HD4000 instead of my 6850's display. With the 6850 I just got a white screen. Safe mode doesnt work....-v showed that it was stuck in AMDRadeonAccelerator I think....I renamed a couple of Kext's, tried all kinds of bootups, etc but still couldnt get it to work. Ended up doing a restore with time machine, booted from Unibeast then ran Multibeast again. Haha Live to fight another day....will probably do more research before I give it another go... |

QUOTE(mikelanding @ Nov 6 2012, 12:30 PM) Did you did a full backup to another HDD before you applied the update? No I didnt, I only did a time machine backup.. If yes, then boot via the backup. Then do a repair permisson on the HDD you just install the 10.8.2 update. I solve a few CP and unbootable situation using this method |

QUOTE(BallSmasher @ Nov 14 2012, 03:25 PM) hye all... i'm new in HT.. just manage install all and its working everything. just think of making backup.. see some review on Time machine. wanna know does it backup all? i try use it. but somehow doesnt feels so right. Time machine worked for me- I could even recover system files, but I also agree that something that can clone the hard disk would be even better. I've heard good things about superduper. |

Just wanted to report in - have been on OSX 10.8 for a while now, tried updating once, cant remember if it was 10.8.2 or 10.8.1 and I had to roll back the changes via time machine, after that my shutdown time became quite abit slower for some reason (Im on SSD)..will probably venture into upgrading to the latest patch- 10.8.4 or something when I feel up to the challenge haha
I've considered buying a 27" IMAC since it ever came out- its been through a few refreshes and Im now on my 2nd Hackintosh that I bought new hardware specifically for (I've been on 3 diff versions of Hackintoshes I think)...no regrets...to me the SSD makes the biggest difference, cant imagine using a PC without it now! so adding that to the 27" IMAC makes it so expensive....also Im an IT guy, so I like being able to customize however I like it and being able to fix anything myself..cant imagine lugging the 27" IMAC back to the apple store to fix something...plus the cost involved etc! Today I bought a DELL U2713HM and a Magic Mouse...I am soo happy now...have been considering the 27" Cinema Display earlier and even getting a real IMAC - mainly for the screen.....I was using an old TN 24" Dell monitor before...and the difference is insane... I think I've spent about 4-5k in total for my PC...but with specs obviously much better than the current 27" IMAC and of course the option of customizing anything I want myself...having tons of internal HDDs...fixing any problems...and admittedly..I enjoy the challenge of the Hackintosh...hahaha Just had to share...oh and the last thing- I bought a bluetooth adapter for rm16 from ALL IT digital mall...works OOB which was a super pleasant surprise...getting my Magic Mouse up and running took 2 minutes... Not sure if wake from sleep works, will try that later. The bluetooth adapter is an AVF- Bluetooth USB Dongle Version 2.0 Compliant...ABT001 (model number I think)..its like a full size thumb drive.. Hope this helps as I've always been too lazy and scared to get a compatible bluetooth adapter and this works for me! Remember that I havent tested wake up from sleep cause I use a wired Apple Keyboard so Im not too worried, but that may be a factor for you to consider..
