I don't think I posted here before. My current Hackintosh setup:

Intel D975XBX2, Q6600, nVidia 8800GTS (G80), OS X Server 10.6.8

This is an old machine but it's my trusty old workhorse server. It's practically been on 24/7 for the last 5 years. Initially setup using JaS 10.4, then Kalyway 10.5 and now using Ultimate Snow Leopard 1.0.2.

The main reason why I don't use a real Mac as a server is because I use a lot of eSata HD docks which I can't do with anything other than a MacPro.

anyone ever try to use apple remote with hackintosh..can we use apple remote on our system??

Might be difficult to find an infrared receiver that's compatible with OSX. I couldn't find one so ended up using bluetooth with Remote Buddy software and a PS3 Bluray Remote. Also works with a Wiimote if you have that.

Has anyone tried the following configuration:
Gigabyte GA-H61M-S2P Rev 2.0 Bios: FA
Sapphire HD6570
Intel 2600K

No DSDT for this board that I can find. Do you think it'll work?

I'm using Gigabyte GA-H61M-S2P-B3 with i5 2500k and gigabyte radeon 5670.
Using snow leopard without problems except for some audio issues that can be solved.

for the dsdt maybe u can try other h61-m s2p variants that is available
*
tikatiko, thanks for the info. I didn't try the DSDT from GA-H61M-S2P-B3 but installation was fairly effortless on the GA-H61M-S2P (2.0). However, though it had an ALC887, none of the audio solutions are working. Probably have to wait for Toleda to update.

For those who are trying with this board, it's really cheap. ~RM170, here're some notes:
-Install from Unibeast with 10.7.4: USB does not work, post Unibeast, pre Multibeast.
-Install from Unibeast with 10.7.3: No probs, just boot with USBBusFix=Yes
-ALC audio not working
-Network is fine
-Also nVidia 6570 works OOB, another cheap buy.

...best way to install Mac OSX from Windows 7? Any site suitable providing HTTP direct download? Thanks in advanced for your reply!

Read first post, not suppose to talk about you-know-what here.

Added on August 28, 2012, 11:10 pm@mikelanding are you using 4x4GB DDR3 1600 or 2x8GB? I can't seem to find 8GB 1600Mhz sticks in LYP.

do u think, hackintosh will die after mac mini m1 available.
*
I think so. The Mac mini M1 is so affordable now. I have a i7 3770k Hackintosh. It was my main driver for many years but still stuck at 10.8.4 cos I was too lazy to update it. Anyway this year bought Mac mini M1. Probably won't be spending much time with hackintoshes any more.

i felt that the desire to be the top with cheaper price compare to the current mac pro reduced now.

and most of us hackintosh due to affordability

hence, with the new mac mini m1 cheap and affordable, i found hackintosh for the time being just not budget friendly.
*
Also, for myself anyway, no more time to spend on getting a hack working properly. Been there, done that at least once, I think good enough lah. It was great getting the Hackintosh working almost perfectly. I think everyone should go through that experience at least once. LOL

stable meh the new M1? mine barely usable, somehow have to restart almost twice a day shakehead.gif

Mine's OK (Mac mini mostly, MBA I less use), what prompts you to restart? The only consistent problem so far is often I lose the ability to screenshot. For that, I need to log out and log back in. Very annoying.

A few days ago, I came across, I believe, the same problem that you had. Normally I'm on ethernet, mine's a Mac mini but that day I was doing something with WiFi and suddenly, no more network at all over wifi. Ethernet still works. This may have happened before but I had never noticed it because ethernet is not affected. Had to restart to revive the wifi.
