Why most ppl choose to use gigabyte mobo to run hackintosh??
is import we need to know the mobo chipset for SB(this is for sata  & usb ) , Lan and Audio
mobo chipset we always choose
Sata = intel chipset is no problem ...the only problem is 3 part of sata chipset .. look for JMicron or Marvell  chipset
Audio= look for  Realtek Chipset
Lan  = look for  Realtek Chipset

those chipset need to know model /spec..wether it support or not

@crimv
most gigabyte mobo will work fine
*
Yes gigabyte will work but not everything will work accordingly.. and i don't want to find or search for dsdt for it to work.

Last time im struggling to search and change part for my xps 16 just to get all work.. tongue.gif

Mine dont have sleep issue at all. I can wake up from deep sleep with BT KB, Trackpad, Magic mouse all working..
I dont even need to use DSDT. Almost all Series 7 Gigabyte Mobo no need DSDT for sleep to work

Gigabyte is always a good choice. Many people use it so there's plenty of knowledge around and easy to find help if you're stuck.

Having said that, my current choice of mobo for a hackintosh build is actually a Zotac. You can find more info in the link below. It's fantastic if you're looking for an miniITX build.

Should work with exception on the audio. VIA audio is not supported, but you might be able to install VoodooHD.

Never like voodoohda .. prefer D3 then

hi guys , want to ask about the LAN .. because i found out that the GIGABYTE GA-Z77P-D3 has two rev 1.0(atheros ) and 1.1 (realtek) I know that realtek lan will work OOB or from multibeast but ... for the rev 1.0 atheros does it work too or required additional custom kext for it?

Hi guys , i just have one question.. about dual boot. i found out that if using one hdd for dual boot may cause one of the OS crash (tried it alot of time) . Do we really need two hdd to avoid this problem ? or maybe is my installation problem.

P/S im using laptop . planning to get second hdd tray.

as I also have various of trial and error b4 succeeded

well im using now fully working ML .. but problem is when i keep using more on my osx my window 7 failed and required to format. darn i fed up with this.

I thought that dual boot on same hdd can cause the OS fail .and crash. correct me if im wrong
