QUOTE(dundermifflin @ Aug 8 2011, 01:31 PM) will try Friends with Benefits later.. the title are nice watching END GAME just for the girls...oh god the girls are awesome! doesn't really give a shxt about the story or the guy with a stupid Russion accentany heads up? Suits remain my favourite series (currently airing). keep up with Breaking Bad and True Blood, but still watching old episodes.. Suits is ok, it's like White Collar but with lawyers in it, with smug or gay faces....personally I like White Collar better, it's music is better (music in Suits are crap), and the style and casts are better, plus it's much much funnier True blood ......too much gay scenes, although i'll just skip them, sometimes the story is quite boring especially the new ones Breaking bad.......doesn't really like the previous seasons (S3 is ok), new season don't know, waiting till it finish then dl watching Scrubs and 3 kingdoms (china series), their quite good |

QUOTE(expl0it @ Jul 5 2012, 01:27 AM) Breaking Bad is one of the best shows....ever. How's that for a recommendation? not entirely true, it doesn't really pick up till S4. S1-S3 had too many flaws. The acting was perfect though. The Firm got cancelled. Added on July 5, 2012, 7:05 am QUOTE(r2t2 @ Jul 2 2012, 01:09 PM) Ya, let's hope The Newsroom doesn't slow down its pace. If you like fantasy stuff, this is the BEST tv show for 2011 and 2012, period.Besides Suits, fast dialogues .... House M.D. was one of those kind of series with witty writings, but it ended already. Veep is from the director of "In the Loop" which is great for its political satire; but I didn't follow Veep, coz maybe it seems a bit too ad-lib for me, the characters seem incompetent (purposely). Boss (starring Kelsey Grammer as the mayor of Chicago) is of more dramatic ... (I only watched the first few episodes). There are others, previous or new series, which I read that is as witty as House (I'm still looking for a replacement series with character yet to match Greg House's sarcastic mind), but haven't got the time to try few episodes. Since you're more interested in shows based on reality, it's understandable you don't fancy fantasy series such as Game of Thrones; but for me, it is one of the current best thoughtful TV shows, the conflicts between the numerous characters, the personal sacrifice for kingdom and others ... it's admittedly a bit slow pace at first, but the characters development is good, it made me cared what will happen to them. Too bad fans gotta wait roughly one year in between each season. if u want a relaxed and interesting show - Leverage, white collar, Chuck if u want sci-fi - Stargate SG1 (the best sci-fi, period) & Atlantis, Babylon 5, Star Trek (Deep Space 9, just because of the Ferengi, u will love to hate them), X-files (loved it to bits), Battlestar Galactica (the new one) if u want dark comedy - Dexter (I like it more than breaking bad, ppl who likes breaking bad more just doesn't get the meaning of life stuff in Dexter, that's why they prefer BB because it has none) if u want soap opera or something like that - Scrubs (some ppl will recommend The Big Bang Theory, watch it only if u just want to pull your hair out, destroy your tv and then commit suicide, yeah, it's THAT bad because it has the most annoying character in the history of television) if u want brilliant scripts with brilliant actors - House M.D, Sherlock (the British one with Benedict Cumberbatch) if u want crime dramas - oh where to start? Castle is fun but it gets tiresome after a few seasons, CSI (vegas) is very good only if u start at S4 (and it has the best cliffhanger at the end of S12!), Criminal Minds somewhat predictable but in some episodes they are very good, the wire (if u r into dialogues and script more than crime solving and action), NCIS is AWESOME (must use this word because it's an American thingy) in every season until now, The Mentalist is quite ok if u don't have anything else to watch if u want to be mind fxcked - Fringe (it's just so darn good) if u want serious stuff - Revenge (can't think of any other, and it's served cold, so, no arguments here) Suits isn't even in my recommended list because it is oh so predictable, and predictable shows are kinda boring. QUOTE(r2t2 @ Jan 18 2013, 09:04 PM) Utopia (Channel 4, UK) ... Episode 1 just watched ep 1. it's quite brilliant and weird. and i love the music. most british tv series are very good, they r just better than most (cliched) american series, but this one really stands out.Watched it without knowing what it is about ... not bad. A bizzare thiller ... looking forward to the next episode. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(dundermifflin @ Jan 30 2013, 11:11 AM) The Following i think it is a very good start. shame Maggie Grace appeared only for brief appearance.. don't know why the villain in The Following has so much power, or is it that 99% of americans are stupid psychopaths?next new series under on my radar.. The Americans Do No Harm |

QUOTE(muhdmafni @ Apr 14 2013, 10:42 AM) Uk's tv series suck. Currently in uk, bought a tv, and all i watch is us's tv series..big bang, how i met ur mother..the only uk's that i can tolerate with is my big fat diaries have u ever tried SPOOKS? Ripper Street? Utopia?i can't tolerate some US series, most of them are so cliche and over the top, even their documentaries. UK series are better in every way. PS: I hate the big bang theory, it has the most annoying character in TV history. |

QUOTE(EightPhantomz @ Apr 27 2013, 12:46 PM) Yes Defiance is so-so. Still a good watch without any high expectations. sorry for keep mentioning this, but have you tried Stargate SG-1 (the best sci-fi series ever made) and Stargate Atlantis? Personally BSG is rated very low in my list, too dark to watch multiple times. SG-1 can watch once every year, just for the fun of it. Firefly is quite good, but most of the casts went to SG-1 after the series ran out of funds. Andromeda is quite bad. and also don't miss the classic Babylon 5 and Star Trek (especially deep space 9)IMO, the best space scifi is probably Battlestar Galactica. But I still enjoy watching Firefly, Andromeda and a few more. Do let me know if I missed anything. My US/UK series list is shrinking now that I've dropped some so-so series and few more cancelled/completed series. Sadly now only sticking to Game Of Thrones S3 (Awesome!), Mad Men S6 (Cool drama) and The Big Bang Theory S6 (just okay) and the newly added Defiance (sokay) and Da Vinci's Demons (kinda distracting, thinking of dropping). Not really into thriller like Bates Motel, Hannibal etc. Really bored nowadays, I ended rewatching Battlestar Galactica's earliest seasons on Netflix. Sigh. |

QUOTE(ChickenWing24 @ Jun 18 2013, 07:20 PM) Just finished watching Elementary. Modern take on the Sherlock Holmes tale. Season 1 ended with 24 episodes. at first i had some reservations about this series because of Lucy Liu, but after watching a few episodes i totally dig it, it's such a brilliant piece of TV! one of the best US detective series ever made (and I watch a whole bunch of them, name some and i probably watched them before)Season 2 coming out this fall. Dun have the slightest idea exactly when though. |

QUOTE(haroldz123 @ Jun 24 2013, 01:28 AM) homeland is quite rubbish, the mentalist is getting old and boring (time to stop eh). Dexter is time for final season, it's been too long. There are some series that i hope will never end because personally i love the characters, their relationships, their chemistry and the fun factor every time i watch them, the most being NCIS and Bones, both still running. previously i was hoping for stargate SG-1 doesn't end, but it did because Richard Dean Anderson got old and plump (and went to produce rather than act), plus MGM (the company) went bankrupt because of stupid ppl running the business... |
