Hi guys, sorry for bumping up old thread. Cant find other threads that discuss rain shower specifically. I’m in the lookout for concealed mixer shower and came across below packages from Grohe. RM2888 for the eurosmart series and RM3088 for the eurostyle series. Are these price reasonable? Or is there other places online which I can source them cheaper? I tried amazon.de but got lost in translation lol. I searched for the parts individually end up more or less same price as over here.

Like blanket84 mentioned, cheapest shud b from amazon de. But do remember to add the basin mixer into ur comparison as the package u showed includes a basin mixer......

so reasonable anot sometimes is subjective to each.... for ur case, from amazon de, price shud b around 2.3k (after tax) to get all the grohe items above (for the eurostyle set).... difference is 700~800.... this u nid to ask urself, how is this price difference weigh to u, u willing to pay or u wanna save it for sth else?

To think this way, the price difference can account for:
1) Mainly warranty for the items (if item faulty or problem in the future)
2) service from the shop when u looking for these items, do they serve u well? do they assist u if u nid help in installing?
3) after service from the shop (if anything happens, will they service u?)
** i know no2 & 3 might not be important.... juz saying.... sweat.gif **

grohe warranty if not mistaken is 5 yrs.... so touch wood if anything happens, is 800 able to get u a new grohe? dun think so.... but sorento mayb..... sweat.gif

And if u r not rushing, may u can survey few more shops tat r carrying grohe.... mayb there will b some shop willing to give u a few hundreds more discount since now difficult times...seller mau sales... brows.gif

If without the things mentioned above doesnt cause too much issue to u, amazon de is the cheapest....

Just my 2 cents.... good luck in ur shopping..... smile.gif

RM2,888 sounds expensive for a normal shower mixer.

I bought my thermostatic shower mixer, Grohe Euphoria 260 for around RM1.8k inclusive of shipping & tax deposit from Amazon.de.

For RM3k you can get Grohe Grotherm Smartcontrol set already.

Lost in translation? Just change the default language to English.
*
Thats cheap but I’m not interested with the exposed set. Change to English already but not everything got translated especially the description part. Anyway i’ve looked at the grotherm smartcontrol before. After shipping it cost about 870euro roughly about RM4.2k. Mind sharing where you found it for RM3k? Maybe I didnt have the right keyword to search the RM3k set

One thing about buying in Amazon.de, you have to monitor the price before buying. And the more you buy, the cheaper the price (the savings is mostly at the shipping & tax deposit).

Like this one below, can easily become 3k++ when they slash the price, and the price fluctuate almost everyday. Like mine, normal price is around 2.5k, after 2-3 months monitoring, I found that the lowest it could go is RM1.8k. So I bought them when the price become the price I targeted again. And I bought plenty of items in the purchase too, so the savings in shipping and taxes becoming more.

You're right. If one wants to buy cheap, it means that one also need to forgo the warranty. Like in my case, the "sale" price here in Malaysia is RM3,688. I bought for RM1.8k++, so after I did my calculation, I could easily buy another unit as spare parts and not to mentioned, I bought 2 units. So the savings of approx RM3,600 for is good enough to forgo the warranty.

So one need to do the calculation before deciding.

Ya search for the parts individually but end up just a few hundreds savings have to think twice due to your reasons 1 and 3 lol. If 50% savings then it will be a no brainer to buy from amazon. I try to get my bathroom done before raya if possible so still about 1 month to source for them. Will try to check other shops like you mentioned. Hopefully can get some good deals around

Plan to get buy some toilet fittings like rain shower, sink faucet from Amazon.de, anyone got experience whether customs will charge extra duties when arrive at Malaysia? I know Amazon side already budgetted around 6% for import duty.

If Amazon already collected import fees deposit for you, then you don't have to pay anything if custom charge import tax on the items that you purchased even the tax exceeded the fees collected. If no import fees collected, then the courier would collect the tax from you. So, to be safe, make sure that you buy items that import fees deposit are collected upfront.

Why selling bro?

I almost bought this one as well last time since it was much cheaper than Grohe, but end up with Grohe instead.

Because my initial plan was to build 3 bathrooms but end up decided to build 2 instead now. sweat.gif

At first was thought to return the additional one back to Amazon but the shipping fees cost 1.8k due the volumetric calculation. Although amazon willing to cover the return shipping charges but it's kinda hassle to dealt with them based on my previous return experience. I manage to get my full refund in the end but it takes tons of follow up and conversation with different cs where I felt very troublesome) rclxub.gif

So I just think that might as well keep it or sell it locally. tongue.gif

Sorento seems mid range
Johnson Suisse is slightly higher than Sorento?

how about Kohler.... just another generic designer brand?

btw... if anyone come across any good outlet sales for Grohe and Hansgrohe do let me know.

Sorento is a local brand.... if not mistaken.

Johnson suisse is also a long history Malaysia brand but acquired by Roca (spain) in 2006 (wiki). Quite decent.... not sure now, but last time quite a lot developer using them.

Kohler is a US brand.... but our region's stock i guess mainly from kohler foshan china? still under kohler qc la....

correct me if im wrong.... sweat.gif

For Kohler, buying from Taobao and shipping here seems to be the best value. Some items can be 1/3 the price.
But problem with Taobao is need to be wary of fakes. So only buy from certified sellers.
