...when it comes to CISS. this is because now their carts all comes with chips..

btw i agree with him. think twice before you buy a canon printer.  icon_rolleyes.gif

Err.. A slight clarification yah.

Info currently posted is for PG40/CL41, that required major DYI.

IP4200 is similar to IP4000 with the variation of the CHIP and Prism light. Slight DYI of implanting the Original Chip to the ezCISS and counter override.

Not to say CISS is difficult, even the act or refilling new Canon's are difficult. Just that CISS makes it easier in the long run. What to do, Canon made life difficult for everybody.

Maybe he already bought the IP4200 ? blush.gif

GENERAL comparison:

epson:
advantages:
print head wun konk
plug and print.

disadvantages:
slow speed.

canon:
advantages:
cheap compatible carts (still apply or not?)
fast speed

dis advantages:
print head not durable. heavy users, max is 3 months. ori carts cost around Rm100 1 set
have to mod a bit before using.

exceptions: this cmparison does not apply for those who dun follow instructions during installation and maintainence whistling.gif doh.gif sweat.gif rolleyes.gif shakehead.gif whistling.gif whistling.gif

Thanks for sharing your views.

I cant say much on that topic for obvious reasons. But the part on cheap compatible carts may not be valid (AFAIK).

Could you give some pictures on DIY for printers that use cartridges with printhead(Lexmarks?). Wish to do one with 1 cart of black and colour (3 colour set). It's and old printer but like the output.

You can.. but it's DYI similar to Canon on my website. Can you handle it?
The reset procedure is much more complex, it involves installing and removing the cartridges multiple times to override the counter sweat.gif (super leceh) Pls email me if you need help.

i have a fren that is using c67 and c65. i myself have c67 and c63. i can tell u that c67 wins.

other good options, since running ciss, maybe can get R230. since ink is no more an issue (virtually unlimited supply liao dude, 4 carts and 6 carts negligable difference).
