For your particular printer. The PG40/CL41 cartridges cannot be cloned or OEm'ed. To save on your cost, you can use back your Original PG40/CL41 and enhance it with an external ink tanks, granted that your current set of cartridges are in good working order.

NO printer modification required, just some DIY connection from the PG41/CL41 to the ink tanks.

Please note the type of CISS required for your printer model HERE

1 set Epson C110 empty refillable cartridge available for immediate delivery. Latest version CHIPS as told.

I would consider your current HP to be of budget range for student usage. Somewhere along that lines or an upgrade?

My customers range from the average student to photo printing professionals. Your feedback and inputs would greatly assist in the recommendation.
