ezCISS, I'm considering also converting my C80 to this system. thumbup.gif
Just 2 questions.

1. How long can the new CISS ink be stored if left unopened/unused in the original pack? My current Epson original C80 cartridges are still more than 70% full, so it could be months before i need to change them!

2. Epson uses Durabrite Ink Technology for the C80 (and also C65 which many in V1 have), is the CISS equivalent also water resistant (for all colors) and more durable than the normal water based inks?

I'm happy to hear that you are considering your 2nd set!

1. As it's an ink product, it's recommended shelf life is 2 years. BUT since my system is spongeless, it can be stored for longer periods if kept properly. That being said, my kits are direct from the overseas manufacturer, they custom assemble and use fresh ink when delivering my orders.

2. Durabright (water proof ink) is actually Pigment Ink. If you require, I can order your set with PIGMENT ink, but the price may not be aggreable to you as 400ml of pigment ink is quite expensive. Furthemore, Pigment ink is more prone to head clogging as it's super thick ink.

Since you are an existing user, I'm sure you satisfied with the print quality of your 1st set.

Cheers! biggrin.gif

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I purchased the C80 primarily for the Durabrite ink due to its specific properties of being water resistant and durable. For this printer I would not want to use normal water soluble inks. How much more would the pigment inks cost?

I hope so too. IF all are Genuine Buyers, should be able to wrap up V2 Bulk in 2 weeks time.

Can I interest you in some Photo Paper too? whistling.gif

BTW.. the running cost for your C80 must be quite high.. have you found compatible pigment ink cartridge in our market? Using original all these time?

Cheers!

Ya, thinking of trying ur paper too, would like to order together with the CISS kit.
I've been on original all this time because the print quality and durability of the printouts is quite crucial for my application - the prints are exposed to quite harsh environment, and the Durabrite ink has been the only one (in the consumer range) i have found (compared to all other printer brands - HP, Canon, etc) to stand up to it.
I don't consider it `expensive' if it can satisfy the job requirements. Of course, if ur supplier can offer a more economical solution, i'd be a fool not to switch! laugh.gif
So far no other third party ink supplier has been confident that their ink can work as well (or nearly as well) as the original stuff. I think they're only on normal dyes, so they can't commit.

As I know, there aren't that many FULL Pigment Ink printers in the market, even some of the Canon models use Pigment for BLACK only, they use a combination of Pigment and Dye for their prints.

To be honest I also cannot guarantee 100% colour matching scheme to the originals. I can only say colours comes close to Originals. Anybody that can claim 100% matching must be a fool. As you are more of a professional user, I hope that your 1st set passed your strict QC sweat.gif

To breifly share with all, by Brand and even by models.. each specific printer models has a different ink chemical content. They are rated by;

1. Surface tension
2. Viscosity
3. PH
4. Conductivity

It's just some technical stuff.. but the final output is more important! thumbup.gif

March05 & osxchd

I'm still waiting for a reply from my supplier for your PIGMENT ink. Thank you for your undestanding.

Yes it all depends on pricing, but I'm also concerned on your refills as I dont think you can buy PIGMENT refills from the shops. 100ml ink of each colour may go a long way, but I'll try to get good pricing for the refill ink bottles for you guys. (then you dont have to worry about low ink levels, or the success of my future Bulk Orders)

As you know my bulk all depends on the volume of orders. So I'll give the best service as I can since V2 is confirmed GO (unless somebody decides to FFK)

Please check you PM's for pricing updates or MSN me at ezciss@gmail.com

Please confirm as Genuine Buyer.. I've sent PM and email to you guys!

Thanks!

I don't know about osxchd's application (does he need pigment ink too?), for me it's the durability that's more important than color matching. I don't think any consumer printer can be exact and consistent enough anyway. They're getting better, but.....

The refill problem will always be there. Even supply of original cartridges for this Epson model is not easy to find. sad.gif If u can obtain a constant supply of pigment refill ink, that'll be icing on the cake!
