if you just dunk your defy in the water, it takes some time for the water to dry before the earpiece gets back its normal volume.

if it just happens like that without your defy earpiece getting wet, then time to claim

Cm7 is definitely the superior ROM, just that ppl also want it to look nice, so trade off lor

i agree 1.8.5 is so much better than last week's version.

not using radio, so it's not a concern to me. if i'm plugging headphones on, it's the mp3 that will be playing tongue.gif

the easy way is, if you are already on MIUI/CM7, just download the ROM and flash as per MIUI/CM7 but wipe data and cache and dalvik as well.

the (b) to (f) part is for those on rooted froyo stock

bro, what ROM are you using now? the sbf and nandroid is for flashing and recovering the nandroid. this is the old fashion way of installing ROMs, which is thru recovery of a nandroid and then flashing a fixed sbf. if you want to do it this way, boot into recovery, wipe data and cache and dalvik, then recover the nandroid (put in cwm/backup)...then after that, restart, straightaway flash the fixed sbf. once flashing finish, restart phone...

if you are already on CM7/MIUI, download from http://www.multiupload.com/XZRHOT0P2G and then install as per zip installation

as you can see, with 2nd init, things are so much easier and faster!

LOL, should put disclaimer that it's on your own risk. I only read and understand the installation process from the net.

never used chinese inputs, so can't really help. i agree the moto keyboard does a great job with it's t9 chinese input method. i use swiftkey which i think is a really great keyboard, as good as swype but both does the job great.

btw, better download from website and flash rather thru the phone. much faster in the first place, and you have a copy lying around in case your SD card gets corrupted

hmm...where you store your contacts info? google? phone?
basically 0% up to date
try charge it longer & unplug it? Or reboot the phone?
Current battery already very good with 2 days usage  biggrin.gif  but gingerbread kernel is definitely drooling  drool.gif
hopefully  hmm.gif
2 years? wow...that's long. I think my phone can serve me another 1 year  tongue.gif

haha, all my phone, or rather almost all my phones serves me 2.5 years before i change them actually. i dont have so much money changing phones every year lah...bought this march 2011, must use at least till march 2013 before can consider changing, that's why i got a rugged phone like Defy!

gonna be hard helping you. the other hard way of doing it is flashing another ROM (i suggest CM7 since you just need to wipe data/cache and install zip like MIUI) and see if the same problem occurs. if yes, likely is the MIUI Rom, but problem is, no one else seems to be having this problem except you.

play around with the phone first...use it and understand it first....then later only flash new ROM or stuffs like that...

that way, you'll learn to appreciate the good stuffs tongue.gif

hey guys, so any good mamak that you guys know can suggest to host our gathering? so maybe we can hang out in the night and have dinner instead of an afternoon gathering. easier to go/find parking/cooler environment/cheaper laugh.gif
*
i reckon on sat night, most mamak wil be filled with football kaki lah....i was kinda thinking tropicana city mall on sat afternoon, cos parking is pretty ok there, plus got starbucks or whatever there if not so full of ppl.

but then again, it's just my idea. anyone with better solutions? let's pick a few places and then do informal voting lah...

ok, just a few things.

1) gathering Sept 17 - so far, Starbucks Tropicana Mall, Midvalley/Gardens TGIF...where else? anymore ideas? i think we should maximum give until end of next week before we vote

2) 1.8.26 camera broken? i just updated last night and camera working....hmm....i wonder why?

3) cientoo, if only one button not working ALL THE TIME...then likely something wrong with it, but if intermittently, then likely software only...

blackwhitechipsKL, what is the application u use for monitor the internet traffic?
forgot already la u suggest last time.

3G watchdog. i think best in the business. the pro version can even help you stop traffic with juice defender or some other apps once you reach your limit automatically.
