Hey guys.

Planning to gatal tangan to change to this one: http://modmymobile.com/forums/640-motorola...tml#post4094397

main problem is I do not understand the steps.

QUOTE
HOW TO INSTALL

(a) - Starting installation with any original froyo 2.2.2 (rooted)
(b) - Install original 451-134 in "normal way"---> nandroid-backup (thx to walter79)
© 1. wipe via CWM
(d) 2. advanced restore (system/only)
(e) 3. flash fixed-sbf
(f)  4. wipe via stock recovery, then reboot.

I don't understand starting from (b) to (f)

The instruction is too simple.. sad.gif

Cheers and thanks.

QUOTE(blackwhitechipsKL @ Aug 12 2011, 11:21 PM)
the easy way is, if you are already on MIUI/CM7, just download the ROM and flash as per MIUI/CM7 but wipe data and cache and dalvik as well.

the (b) to (f) part is for those on rooted froyo stock
*
I downloaded the file and doesn't seem like the normal zip file that we place in sd card and then use CWM to select from sd card.

Got 2 folders one has an sbf file in it another folder has nandroid.md5 and system.img files

I am motoblur man h aha

QUOTE(blackwhitechipsKL @ Aug 13 2011, 12:25 AM)
bro, what ROM are you using now? the sbf and nandroid is for flashing and recovering the nandroid. this is the old fashion way of installing ROMs, which is thru recovery of a nandroid and then flashing a fixed sbf. if you want to do it this way, boot into recovery, wipe data and cache and dalvik, then recover the nandroid (put in cwm/backup)...then after that, restart, straightaway flash the fixed sbf. once flashing finish, restart phone...

if you are already on CM7/MIUI, download from http://www.multiupload.com/XZRHOT0P2G and then install as per zip installation

as you can see, with 2nd init, things are so much easier and faster!
*
Hey thanks for the info. I am currently at CM7 RCV2. Anyways gonna try a sbf stock ROM found from this forum page 1 lah. Play around and compare to what I had from CM7. Will definitely try this out soon as well biggrin.gif

Thanks again

QUOTE(cientoo @ Sep 6 2011, 11:19 AM)
well..looks like the dev have updated to v4 (which does not include the 720p patch..we need to flash separately)

If you are interested..heres what i did..(I managed to download v3 with the 720p patch)

1) start from any froyo 2.2.2
2) root and install 2ndinit from market
3) download MotoGinger Teaser v3 (i can try to upload it somewhere)
4) connect defy to pc and create a folder called \clockworkmod\backup\ in your sdcard
5) extract the downloaded MotoGinger Teaser v3 and unzip to your newly created folder so that you will have \clockworkmod\backup\MotoGinger-Teaser-v.3
6) download fixed SBF "shadow4.5.1-134fixed.sbf" (I can try to upload it somewhere)

Start flashing
1) boot defy into CWM recovery
2) perform wipe data/factory reset and perform wipe cache
3) perform an advanced restore of MotoGinger Teaser v3. Select restore system only
4) after restore complete choose "reboot system" and immediately hold down the VOL UP key to go to bootloader mode.
5) connect your defy to pc and launch RSD lite
6) flash shadow4.5.1-134fixed.sbf downloaded earlier
7) after flashing complete and your device reboots, immediately hold down the VOL DOWN key to go to stock recovery
8) Press both VOL UP and VOL DOWN key simultaneously to see the boot menu.
9) perform wipe data/factory reset and perform wipe cache
10) once done reboot system, RSD lite should show PASS. Disconnect from PC and enjoy.
today, i am actually back to froyo 2.2.2 because will be going to the service center to get my menu button LED fix...
will flash back to motoginger after that.. nod.gif

Awesome really appreciate the trouble of you writing this. My CM7 becomes weird as time goes by not sure why. FC's and battery drain. But once I reflash my initial CM7 backup ROM it becomes OK again. So far is it true the battery life improved tremendously with that MotoGinger Teaser ROM thingy?

full of bullshit with "Faster" and more "vroom" features.
if we overclocked up to 1.2ghz, then whats the point?

I just hope that the battery really fit our defy...hahaha
*
Like not much difference also huh? Yeah let's hope the battery fits!
