Peeps, this is how they want to cheat in the next General Election.
They know the rakyat is mad with all the barang naik harga and lousy economic and social condition-
so they are trying their best to prevent or frustrate you from registering.
(hint - pretend you want to vote for them and register with MCA / UMNO / MIC counter)
(remember the saying - take the money from their vote buying but go the other way)

Next move, they are going to pardon and give resident rights for the millions of illegals - on condition they vote for them or else the gov will send them packing back to Bangla/Indon/Philliphines/Pakistan/Myanmar/Laos/Kemboja.
This was announced by one their ministry - dig it out yourself if you are concerned for your future in Msia.

Your rakyat status will be lower than the "certified to vote" immigrants.
