i'm planning on getting a golf tsi, and after reading about the jetta I'm wondering if it'll be worth the wait for this until sept 2011.

some points i've considered (notwithstanding the price, since no one knows for sure yet) about the jetta;

- extra boot (quite important for some people)
- new face (different than golf), if it's the 2011 model
- driving dynamics not too nippy (sedan vs hatchback)
- slightly longer rear legroom
- more mature image

what is unknown about the Jetta at this point to affect my decision are;

- pricing
- warranty plan (if the 5 + 5 year is still valid)
- engine (1.2 or 1.4 or 2.0)
- gearbox (manual or DSG)
- wheel (16" or 17")
- interior spec

sorry, might've been nov instead of sept.

possibly cbu jetta launch first in 2011, then ckd jetta in 2012.

latest rumor heard that Golf may CKD in Malaysia in 2012, in addition to Jetta and Passat.

No golf ckd...only vento ( polo sedan ) , passat b7 n jetta ....
No jetta cbu....
my source mentioned golf ckd because VW sourcing local component vendors for golf, besides the jetta and passat

another source mentioned jetta cbu will be first few units only, thereafter ckd

not sure which is true...

Let's hope the official press statement holds true.

But if a manufacturer sees a strategic fit, and economic reasoning to CKD a popular selling model for the interest of profit, they'll probably risk losing a few early customers to gain countless new ones due to a lower pricing.

That's why I was surprise when my source mentioned they're quoting for a Golf model.

PERHAPS its for sourcing of material for their other plants manufacturing Golf.
