That polystyrene itself is only meant for decoration purposes not for supporting the whole structure.

Then again, polystyrene for decoration???? ingat ni sukaneka skolah ke??

at least use high quality wood or something la

if the bridge is really made of polysterene, and it can normal load of cars or ppl passing, that's an engineering feat to be proud of.

and if it's just a decoration, what's the fuss about? if they made it from concrete and wire mesh, you guys will still complaint over the costs too.

sometimes, msian just don't know what they want. just oppose anything for the sake of opposing.

yes2...i wonder how they can make a bridge out of polysterene...its like magic! hmm.gif
it can even support vehicles!

No contractor will be so stupid-lah to replace concrete beam wth poly...The cost of kena sue & etc not worth it.

The top part already a concrete & sufficient dy, the arch is just a deco lah...Even a non engineer like me also know it's a deco..Well, probably wanna better deco, can use those deco bridge in Putrajaya  biggrin.gif ..also deco & not real support..but not poly for sure  biggrin.gif

i thought the part is used as support for the bridge ... but the bridge is short, therefore support is not required ...

still, deco are supposed to be nice to look at ... if there's no maintenance and it starts to fall off, might as well do away with it and save some cost ...

i understand that the poly part is for the deco. but to use poly as deco IMO is for short term only. if they want to make it nice, please la do it properly, dont just for short term only. poly structure like this will not hold more that 2 years base on our weather. after this, sure they will appoint another contractor to repair it and the cost surely will very high.
