i believe alaskabunny confused UOB debit card(white colour) with ATM card (grey colour), primarily because one can use debit card as ATM card to withdraw money from ATM machine and no charge whatsoever involves.

UOB debit card requires a certain amount of spending to waive off that 18SGD fees. ATM card is free

do you guys always change money back to rinngit? Is it possible rate can reach 2.50?

Iirc it touch 2.70 once during my working years but I know nuts about money market. So I will change some at 2.4 , some at 2.5 then much more if > 2.7.  If ringgit drop a lot then it is a good time to use SGD to clear my loan in Malaysia.

Was hoping that some of you that are more experience could shed some light. I consider myself a freshie and I am thinking of making a career move and starting over in Singapore, so generally speaking, is Singapore a good place to start for an engineering graduate? I guess, my main concerns are not on the financial aspects but more towards the career side of things, in particular (for a MNC):

Training & development: In comparison with grads of the same organisation in other parts of the world, do you get the same level or training and exposure?

Working culture: Would love to know how's the working culture like? Mutual respect for one another (even from the top)? Promotion based on merit? Do people value/place importance in quality of work rather than profit only? Are people very willing to pass on their knowledge and help promote growth in one another? Working hours? etc. etc. 

Social aspects: Do people go for lunch together? Do people hang out together after work?
While I understand that this is all very subjective, but I suppose there can be some generalisation to an extent. Also, I do apologise as some questions might seem very petty but I sincerely hope that I could get some advice, particularly from those who have had the chance to work in Singapore and in other parts of the globe.

My cousin just got his job today during his 1st interview as an Accountant in an automobile company.  His job require him to travel frequently to KL which is good for him because he from KL.
The company can save hotel costs bcos my cousin can stay at his house whereas he can go back to KL frequently at the expense of his company.

Any of you guys heard of ppl giving up PR and reverting back  to EP ? One of my fren is considering doing so bcoz he needs the CPF money back .

Thats what i suspect too. He needs to leave SG inorder to get the total amount. Another thing is getting the EP itself, chances to getting it back is low considering the current situation. Having said that he does not need to contribute that monthly 1k for CPF which helps alot financially.

not exactly cheap either.....u could get around SGD50k for an Altis...but left like around 5 years more on the COE....so its not cheap as well..

For info, i get my JPJ letter from JPJ Padang Jawa, Kelang. No such request of RM250 for not blacklisting my MY license. I also successfully renew my license for 5 years. Cheers

It all boils down to the outlet. Some outlet will check for EP validity at least minimum 2 years while some didn't check at all. so, can try your luck.
