I like the film adaption of Golden Compass. It was not too bad but the only problem is they changed the ending to a happier ending because in the first book ends in sadder way. Unfortunately, this story is a bit too complicated for most people and the studio made a huge mistake in promoting this movie like another LOTR. All the people who went to watch this movie was expecting another sword & sorcery type story and most came out disappointed. And the worst thing is it flopped at the US box office but did quite well worldwide due to the protests of the some churches.
