I’m quite disappointed with my purchase of T495 due to the following reason.

1) Delivery from China to Malaysia (Subang Jaya) took 16 days. Laptop shipped on 9-Sep and only received it yesterday which is 24-Sep. Based on UPS tracking, the Laptop was stuck in Sepang for more than a week. Lenovo email support is not responsive and not helpful and I’ll need to call them up and check the status.

2) After the long wait, laptop finally arrived and I found that there were at least 3 dead pixels on the display, and the finishing on the casing behind the display is quite rough and not entirely smooth.

3) Tried to call them again today for several time and my call was not being picked up.

The only good thing is the laptop purchased with 3 year premium support, accidental damage coverage, and sealed battery replacement.

Does any one has experience dealing with dead pixel for their new laptop? Do you get a replacement unit or sent for repair?

Damn, after paying such a price premium, I certainly won’t feel happy to have 3 f**king dead pixels on my brand new laptop... doh.gif

Before you proceed with further warranty actions, mind help us with some HWinfo screenshots regarding that display? TQVM for that.

Yeah, that’s what I mean. TQ for your time.

Apparently it is a quite decent display, nice brightness, great contrast and decent colour gamuts. Just that the reaction time can be a little too slow for the likings of some people, is it true in your case too (like having some ghosting or trailing of mouse pointer)?

Hi, so far I have not really used the Laptop and will need some time to verify the issues which you've mentioned.

how to check that...

Hi, I used HWiNFO as suggested by msacras.

Could you please take a photo of the finishing?
I'm using the old T450 with the brush finishing, which I love a lot.

Hi, Please refer to attached photo. I have circled the rough spot on the casing. There were 2 more spot similar to this but smaller. It feels like the casing was not polished well.

BTW, bro. Do lenovo really have policy to allow us to cancel customised order? They have this clause at checkout...

2 days had passed and my shopback really didn’t get tracked. Really feel like cancel it and reorder, can save at least RM100+ (if 14% it’s RM200+... cry.gif), enough for me to get a RAM stick to complete the build...

Just share my experience. I placed an order then second day realized that I want to change the spec, so I told the lenovo rep that I want to change the spec and she asked me to cancel the current order and place a new one. She helped me to submit the cancellation request for the current order, which took 1-2 day to complete. The first order I forgot to use shopback so I used shopback for the second order biggrin.gif
