Guys, where to check warranty for Thinkpad T60 series? I am planning to buy a second hand Thinkpad and I was told the warranty for Thinkpad is to the machine itself. So if I bought it second hand without the original receipt, the warranty claim still valid?

I have information of this here
type = 2007
serial = L3DV031

how to check how much longer is the warranty still valid?

Bro online with your T60 and go to this webby : http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss...itestyle=lenovo

But with the info you give.. your warranty till 2009-07-20

I think your warranty is valid even without POP.. couse if you at States i belif they wont want to have your POP!

Cheers.

IC, thanks for the info. But I got a question here, how come to check warranty is at IBM website. Isn't Thinkpad already a LENOVO product and no more under IBM wing? Locally where to send thinkpad for service if it is still under warranty?

WoW, bobby3006 really helpful. Hey, i heard the new T61 based on santa rosa chipset would premier one month from now. Anyone heard bout that? I wonder how soon techdos would bring it in. Then i'll go get it brand new, better than being in doubt getting a second hand Thinkpad, haha. Techdos is in Mid Valley rite?

Just got my Thinkpad X60 from Techdos slightly over a week. Loving it. Running Vista Business on it now with upgraded 2GB of RAM. Everything is running smoothly except for some graphics problem. When I play warcraft 3, the screens seems to have artifact intermittently. It seems to happen if i move my mouse cursor around very fast. Also, in a 3D simulation that I ran, the 3D graphic would not display correctly, a solid model would seem like a hollow model. I wonder if this is the onboard graphics limitation or the vista having issues with direct x?

Not really I was planning long term gaming on this laptop. I was just testing out the limitations of X60. I am now thinking of recovering it to Windows XP to see if such problems still exist. That way only I can have my own verdict. So far X60 is great doing what it is suppose to do.

Just read from InTech today that Asustek wins the contract deal to make Lenovo notebooks. But i doubt it's the Thinkpad series, more like the lower end lenovo notebooks.

The dealer I bought my thinkpad from says a new 8cell battery would set me back RM600+. So expensive.
