Wow, cool specs... But its a bit on the high side eh, around RM5600... Is it available for purchase already?

Lenovo and Harvard University have a special partnership which enables me to buy at 43% discount... unfortunately the deals are only for uni affiliates. hehe..

The base system was actually with only 1GB RAM and a 80GB HDD (everything else being the same), for RM4.7k

But what u mean by "uni affiliates"? Good what, 43% discount is a lot of price reduction for that laptop though!

People who are currently studying/working here. Yes, it's a very good deal. The bad/unfortunate part is that other people cannot buy at the reduced price, hehe..

Yeah I'm studying over here.. But I can't resell it unfortunately (Anyway I'm not going back home to M'sia for quite some time) .. Btw I didn't realise - it doesn't seem that M'sia has released the Z61t / Z61m (which is the one I'm getting) in M'sia yet?

Mine is T60 model, I see the shop open some screw on the bottom then open up the palm rest area then plug in new ram below the touch pad.. kinda hard couse i never open up lappy i only know how to use sad.gif

Im sure someone here sure know how to open can teach de smile.gif alot nice ppl here smile.gif

Yeah, the palmrest thing is quite pesky, requires quite a lot of force to actually take it off. It definitely makes it harder for someone to steal your RAM!

Instructions to open it should be in the Thinkpad service booklet smile.gif

Btw, 4GB is just not worth it at the moment. For me, I'm lucky because the software I use has distributed computer support so I can utilize multiple computers to do my work - much cheaper. Btw depending on the work you do, 4GB is way way not enough. For me to properly do work, I'd need around 16gigs, but oh well. Hard disks are so slow.
