Hi guys... would like to join da club...

using an Upgraded R50 here biggrin.gif

Upgraded the RAM from 256 to 768
Upgraded DVD-ROM to COMBO
Upgraded 30GB HDD to 80GB
Upgraded to 9-Cell Battery

All is running well for 3years plus already and the battery life for the 1st gen centrinos is great!!!

well LCD is fine so far...

The only thing that gave way was the DVD-ROM drive - After 1.5 years
And the original 6 Cell Battery Died out after 2 years.....

Cross my fingers... so far so good...

anyways.. I believe the thinkpads were built like a tank...

One nifty feature that I love about the think pad compared to other lappys is the "thinklite" an LED that lights up ur keyboard if u r using in he dark biggrin.gif

the compat flash to IDE adapter being sold by one of the forummer here...and he has used it as a harddisk before. I think can find it at the garage sale under notebook PDA section. I guess Its a Cheaper alternative but CF card are now at 8GB?
