I really impressed by thinkpad on-site warranty. I requested screen replacement for x230 due to bright spots + dead pixel. The IBM representative came to my place the next day and I got my screen replaced without question asked. Thumb up...

I use mine for 2d CAD and photoshop lightroom. So far very happy with it. Make sure you get 16gb ram because you can't upgrade in future. 
For 2d CAD is more on single core speed so get the highest ghz processor.
For photos editing is more on ram and the current i7 is true 4 cores processor also helps a lot. The HDR screen is perfect for photo editing.

I am considering as well the x1 extreme, the only concern is only the battery life, well, if it could come with WQHD it would be so much nice instead for FHD. Since the battery is 80WH, UHD version last only for 6-7 hrs.....

Actually FHD version lasts 6-7 hours , the battery life is terrible with this one...maybe 8 hours at most

but both side got nand so cant install....

i have install ssd, but when tighted the screw,
it will curve up, so i loose the screw a bit so that the curve not that much,
but long term usage will the ssd damage?
