Any reason to buy ThinkPad and work with Linux OS?
To me AMD or Intel windows platform are better, at least my engineering software all are supported.

Before being sold to Lenovo, IBM Thinkpad provided one of the best (if not the best) Linux support. But nowadays I think that title is being held by Dell with their Project Sputnik.

Why Linux on laptop? For me:
1) APT and YUM beats any windows-based application manager
2) Terminal
3) SSH

I think even Microsoft (begrudgingly) acknowledges that. Hence why the strong move from their side for Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL)

For work that requires lots of precision fast typing (coding and SSH)... Thinkpad keyboards are match made in heaven.

Currently I'm using Dell. If one day kaya... will definitely be checking out Thinkpad again.
