Yes, they do have it but they don't have your OS. Futhermore it would be a little more trouble to download from website as you need to identify each and every component/model for your ThinkPad. Still the best way to go is make backup CDs from rescue&recover.

There's another way though, contact IBM to purchase the disc for your specific model. They are selling it but i do not know the price

z60t user reporting here.  Love its lightweight, for a price slightly higher than the r52 which is awfully heavy.

Nowadays the newer thinkpads (z series, t60, x60 onwards)from Lenovo has given us back the Windows key

Thinkpads have sooo much crap preloaded with them... What I did was create a D: partition, copy everything from the folders IBMTOOLS and DRIVERS to D drive, reformat and reinstall windows XP, install the IBM Software installer, point to the stuff in the D drive and choose only the things that I want (Power manager, Access connections, Ultra Nav, and Active Protection System)

Its supposed to be discontinued soon, to be replaced by the ThinkVantage System Update, but I prefer the Software Installer.

Yeah, I think it works for all models of Thinkpads.  Its a small software that allows you to install the default software/drivers that are meant for the Thinkpad, and also check for updates to the installed software/drivers. 

It will check both your local hard disks for installation files, and also from the Internet.  Quite a handy tool for any Thinkpad owner.

I bough another stick of RAM for my X60s. A kingston value RAM 512MB 667mhz which runs on Elpida chipset. Now i am on dual channel.

anyone have any idea where IBM's service centre is located? I've tried to search their website but could not find any addresses.

My LCD is a bit too loose and I would like to send it back. Would they be able to return in on the same day? Any loaner ar?

I am using T43, why?

T43 (at least MY T43), really got big problem in suck/dead pixel man.

I managed to kill some suck pixels (only one left now), but it's coming out like once in a month....and took me half an hour or so to fix it

I don't know whether the rest of you are facing this problem.

Just apply some pressure with it if it is stuck pixels. (not 100% success rate)

If dead pixels, then say bye bye...

Nop. It's not the docking station. It's an external TEAC DVD/CDRW combo. I seldom use this drive though unless i need to install software from CDs. Unlike external floppy disk drive which can run via USB power, this DVD/CDRW unit needs a power source to run it.

A word of advise, remember to create 1 set of recovery CDs. It's pre-installed within the HDD but it's better to make another backup via CDs for peace of mind in case your HDD goes kaput You'll roughly need about 7 CDs.
