brian12988, maybe you need v1.9 (out already!)...supposed to fix WiFi problems. The upgrades are coming so fast now I've no time to check each rom fully. I'll probably skip v1.9 for the time being since I have no issues detected so far on v1.8SP1.

nightlife173, if you're asking about battery life in topogigi rom, I'm happy to report that I have no battery leak on standby.....and I've enable OC to 1216Mhz by default.

Battery loss very fast

Hi guys. I just bought this phone, a second hand one in fact. But there is a problem. I can only charge my phone but could not connect it to my PC. When I connect it, nothing happened at all, not even auto driver install. The phone only show that it is charging the batt. Any one have any idea what is happening? Is it a faulty set?

Btw, Usb debugging mode on. It is original set with warranty card and thorus sticker.

Good to hear that you manage to get it fix. Heard that gingerbread is in testing phase (version 20j), no idea when its finalize and LG are pushing to get it out ASAP as there is a lot of complains and they have been pushing their delivery date from time to time. If you're tired of waiting, tryout the custom roms (I'm getting custom rom from modaco & xda developers, so far newer version still have alot of bugs) Its more responsive *and buggy too*

Well, what i can say is problem with current phone would be that Froyo battery utilization is not optimize (major drain) and with the custom rom, it helps [less drain] but how i resolve the common issue on battery drain - get extended battery, (original is 1500mAH, extend battery is 4500 mAH - normal usage = daily charge, extended battery is 3 days if moderate, if light can last longer but its bulky like old motorola phone )

(P/S : if you want to keep the phone slim, you can try out getting slim higher capacity batteries, but honestly, i find them slightly better then original but not by alot. e.g 1 day use, maybe become 1 1/2 day or 2 days if you really tweak your phone to max. If i do the same thing for the extended battery, 3 to 5 days on moderate/light usages)

In the meantime, keeping my finger cross hoping that ICS does come for this phone (gingerbread, little too late since ICS has been launch, maybe comes out when next edition is launch again or never at all )

Battery consumption for v10e is acceptable (compare to earlier stocks), topogigi's v1.7 is ok but CM7 is better, problem with CM7 is alot of the functions is not complete (refer to the known list) so if you want a balance functions vs battery, stick with topogigi's (now already v2.0 sp3) but you need to flash your baseband few times to fix the battery drain (if no problem, don't flash). Paul's rom (modaco) isn't bad too but topogigi's is closer to stock rom (means you can use all function and it isn't as broken as the other custom, and of course not as fine tune as theirs too (in term of o/c, performance, battery drain, etc)

Well all these are my personal view after flashing back and forth for testing (its nightmare to keep restoring, so save yourself all the hassle by getting titanium to do all those restores)

One more thing, don't fix what is not broken, if your baseband is ok, don't flash it. I flashed my few times when i keep switching between roms to try out which one i find more stable & ofcouse i switch my card over to my spare phone when i do those flashing.
Summary
Best ROM for
1. Battery - CM7 (so far)
2. Features as close as stock - Topogigi's
3. Tune for balance - Paul's (well there are tons of other you can find in XDA developers, but this is my favourite)

Confirm no problem - LoL stock of course (v10e) - except the battery drain issue

Tips for battery drain
1. Turn off unused apps / widget /GPS
2. Set the screen brightness & timeout
3. This is preference for individual - your apps sync : whatsapps, viber, facebook, etc have alot sync which cause your phone to keep waking up (this really drain your battery alot)
4. Use 2G (LoL kinda of pointless since you want data transfer) but this help alot

By the way, do you know that by switching your phone to airplane mode, your phone can go on 5 days , tried this when i was calibrating my battery after wipe but this is pointless since you can't use your phone for call (only wifi)

pity u guys..i owned an lg phone b4..not an android phone..km900..full of bugs..no hope for their firmware updates..all are rubbish..fix a, but b got problem..another firmware fix b but c got problem..and the problem continues until u feel cheated with the specs it has on the paper..

Yeah agreed, the phone itself packs a good hardware (play shadowgun without hiccup, haha), just the software division suck big time only

not the manufacturer, it's the phone division's management that's asleep, LG should fire the entire division and hire some ppl who are awake and knows this is the year 2011.  The current LG phone division still thinks this is year 2000 where the Y2K bug killed all the computers, they are still finding out more info / news in their library (with newspapers)

if u r interested (or knowledgeable) about flashing roms, and is in a tight budget, then no doubt this phone is worth it.  or else look elsewhere
