My bro just told me that problem with Kinect is that while you playing, other people cannot sit behind you or sit within the Kinect range and they have to sit at the side because it will confuse the sensor?
Anyone have Kinect can comments on this?

Thanks.

For the dashboard and some games, yeah you can't have more than one person in front of the Kinect. For multiplayer games like Kinect Sports/Adventures, 2 people can play at once but side by side.

It's not really a problem per se, Kinect just works like that. nod.gif

Added on July 10, 2011, 4:41 pmbtw, you can tryout the Kinect at the Asian Games Channel (AGC) store in Cathay Cineleisure. It's a few shops after Gamers Hideout, beside the hobby store. rclxms.gif

Kinect is a proper depth capable sensor. The player will ALWAYS be the one in front, people can sit behind the person. But if the game is meant for 2 player obviously the person in the back will be detected.

No problem, people walking / sitting / playing at the back or even side will not confuse the sensor.

Some games will confuse if someone is standing besides and too near. It will assume another player trying to join.

But if they are walking in front of me, will be scolded by me... brows.gif So no problem at all.

well, it doesn't confuse the sensor until it breaks la, but it does switch detection (like hand menu navigation) pretty fast. which is good, in terms of its detection. but yeah, it won't really ruin the game playing experience at all. kinect is intelligent enuff.
