Well HP has just released this ultra-capacity battery for the NX9420 and business series. Battery life is 14 hours! Read here and weep.

Ekekeke!

Yours is with ATI card right? Naturally it uses more energy and furthermore business use is not as power consuming as home/entertainment/game use.

You need to take into account LCD size and type (brightness etc.). Business notebooks are geared towards longer usage without a power socket.

Get the 9 cell battery for your M100.

Have heard... but have you tested one before ? Friend and I tested the Tecra M5... even with much adjustment the max we got was a bit over 3 hrs.

Thinkpad there is the R series eg. R 51e which is in the same price range as the Satellite.

Huh, have you not heard of Portege R200 and M400 with 5 hour battery life just on 6-cell and Tecra M5 up to 7½ hours with 12 cell battery?

You should compare Thinkpads to equivalent business notebook. That is why Toshiba business notebooks are more expensive than Satellites.

Which M5? The Tecra M5 we sell have Quadro plus 12 cell battery.

IBM/Lenovo is clever by putting 8/9 cell battery in their Thinkpads where as Satellite and Tecra normally sold only with 6 cell (3½-4 hours) to save cost. Use Toshiba 12 cell into M5 and try to compare. NVM, put a 12 cell battery into Satellite and compare with your Thinkpad.

M5s after all use Quadro (eat a lot of power). R50's integrated intel or x300 does not use as much power.

M100 wit the 6 cell's weight is bad enough ... change to 9 cell ... like carrying bricks only ... lolz

normally when i go out i also lazy to bring the adapter along ... coz the adapter also quite heavy ....

i would put M100 in the desktop replacement category ... not portable category ...

and the amount of heat generated when u put on ur lap is enormous ... (dont know how to spell)

i tried putting it on my lap when i was waiting for a friend in my car ... put on my lap for like 15 minutes also i can feel my lap burning already ...

More heat means more power consumption. That is why they are called personal/home notebooks. Tecras are not so hot and lasts longer too but more expensive.

To put on your lap buy a business laptop like the Portege and I'll give you a super duper deal. rclxms.gif

6 cell battery lasts 5 hours and only 1.22kg. thumbup.gif
