They just confirmed it will works on TL-WR841ND ver7.
The test unit I assisted them to test on my Huawei BTU is on ver7.1, I believe this is the version sold in Malaysia at the moment.

Currently they are sorting out internally now to re-confirm before releasing the official firmware.

Actually both vlan 500 & 600 has been hard-coded onto the firmware so you don't need to create vlan like the DIR-615, all the features & functions look & feel are exactly like the usual TP-Link firmware.
This custom firmware will use LAN port 1 for IPTV connection.

I have the latest beta firmware which I just tested ok for both internet & IPTV, if anyone really eager to test it out, you may email me: klseet@gmail.com
Unifi stomps all over port 5060, needed for SIP protocol VOIP phones to start up phone calls (or even to register to your account to get a dial tone).

With the TPLink replacement unit, is port 5060 still hard-coded to TM for their VOIP phone?

Or do I have the ability to use port 5060 with SIP when I choose to? (Choice...yep, I want CHOICE.)

More specifically, I use EyeBeam's X-Lite soft phone, and a Broadvoice VOIP account. Also have a VOIPo account - that does seem to work with Unifi using soft phone Zoiper.

But using X-Lite + my Broadvoice account, Broadvoice reports that I "have not place a single call" in the last week. Have tried! Have REALLY tried! smile.gif

Any info on using SIP-based VOIP phones with Unifi where port 5060 is "not available" for customer use? Is that port freed up using the TPLink replacement hardware / firmware?

Thanks!

Do you means unifi used port 5060 on vlan 500? IP Phone the bundle with unifi is under different vlan. It's should not messed up internet access vlan.

or you want to use unifi phone through a softphone?

Unifi VOIP terminates at the BTU on VLAN400. It won't affect any VOIP devices you have running over the Internet. The router provided by TM is not even aware of the VOIP VLAN nor does it handle any SIP communication from TM's VOIP service. The only thing that would screw up your VOIP/SIP client would be the SIP ALG on the DIR-615 (I'm not sure if they have it working properly).

voip settings lost... .. why you "RESET" you should just power cycle...

give a call to unifi and get the settings from them else they have to send engineer over to configure back the voip

Anyone manage to get SIP to work at Unifi? My brand office Unifi is working without any configuration but my home Unifi just refuse to work. What make the different. I even replace the Unifi Dir 615 to Tp-link 1043 but it is still doesn't work. The SIP account is very important for me to "work at home" so that I can connect to my company SIP server... please help

I have tried with ATA device and softphone and both doesn't work. From the signal it seems successfully registered to the server but keep having error when making call. The system is a traditional SIP server using UDP 5060 I guess.

Now I am not sure if it is the router blocking the traffic (some say due to ALG SIP), but TP-Link support told me the router doesn't have the feature. Some say due to Unifi but my office unifi have many user using it.
thanks

Hi I've not done this before... but...

is it possible to -somehow- use my PC to make calls instead of using phone via unifi phone number?

I want to use my microphone and speakers/headphones as input/output device.

I think the poster wants to use his Unifi number's sip settings.
Unfortunately not possible due to different vlan.

trying to figure this out myself. I can't seem to log into the BTU for tm unifi and was trying to find the sip server name and user id / password format so I can use my own sip device instead of terminating the VOIP at the BTU itself.

VLAN tagging isn't an issue, not that it should matter.

Hi, I have been trying to do this, and I have made some progress on it. I am still trying to resolve the issue of no outgoing audio

For FreePBX

In Peer Details [U]

username=+603XXXXXXXX
type=friend
secret=XXXXXX
qualify=yes
port=5060
nat=no
insecure=invite,port
host=10.225.0.1
fromdomain=ims.tm.com.my
outboundproxy=10.225.0.1
outboundproxyport=5060
disallow=all
authuser=+603XXXXXXXX@ims.tm.com.my
context=from-trunk
canreinvite=no
allow=alaw,ulaw

For Incoming Tab

User Details: empty
Register String: +603xxxxxxxx@ims.tm.com.my:pass:+603xxxxxxxx@ims.tm.com.my@10.225.0.1/+603xxxxxxxx

The machine hosting FreePBX must have 2 network adapter.
eth1: connect to LAN network
eth2. connect to VLAN400 (Prior configurations to be done in switch/router) I used Mikrotik. There are existing tutorials to show how to do configuration for IPTV (VLAN 600), just repeat the same for VLAN 400

The secret /pass is a 6-digit number which you can get by calling customer service. Can only be obtain from supervisor level and above. Their customer service will act pro, but they actually don't know what that is.

If you have one way audio issues

1. Ensure disable SIP ALG in router
2. Check your routing table in FreePBX host.

If the setting is successful, you are able to have multiple simultaneous calls

Any special settings to get vlan400 work?
I cannot get it work even after disabling vlan400 wan on the fiber modem. But vlan209 works. Is it by design? My modem is HG8240H
