I was in Lowyat about 2 months ago so I went searching for a case for my SGS.  They are so hard to find and not many choices available.  But all I see is iphone case everywhere i look around.  Why?  Those shop owners must be stupid to stock so many iPhones case because the ipHones are so not worth it.

LOL! why so serious? easy man. i said it's my personal opinion. iphone are great phone easy to use and smooth. are we cool? icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(janov @ Jul 5 2011, 04:14 PM)
Basically, everyone buys something for their own personal reason. When i buy a phone i look at the hardware specs, i chose SGS because of the screen, i read a lot so i appreciate the SGS Screen Size, plus when i travel i can watch videos either through the phone or via TV OUT (no need to bring a lap top). Most people get an Iphone and rightfully so because Iphone is very easy to use and hardly give any problems.

But you're also right that Apple have good branding and they have done so with very good Marketing (Americans are damn good at it thats why they are good at bullshitting about Weapons Of Mass Destruction). Most people have been brainwashed by the media for a long time. The media through its ads convince people to buy and consume, they psychologically brainwash us into thinking that after we buy a certain Product, we feel good about ourselves and we show this off to our friends to boost our ego. However i feel the feel good only lasts a while before we're back to reality.

Its really sad to see there are bags/watches sold nowadays that costs more than a car. People buy it because it gives them status and IMage. This IMage thing is quite sick actually. Meanwhile 35,000 children dies of poverty everyday, half of the population of this planet live on RM10/day.

Sorry if this is off topic, just want everyone here to think about all these and be grateful for what we have. Im really sick to hear about people buying something just for image or status. Please dont be influenced by the media. We need to snap out of it and realise what i coming soon : the biggest depression the world has ever seen. What that have been enabling us to buy this and that all this while is nothing but debt debt debt. Money in reality, is nothing but debt.

Hi, sifus, may I know how well is the Samsung Stock GB ROM performing?
The File system still RFS or EXT4?
How many input method are there in GB stock ROM?
Any default Chinese KB?
How about custom ROM? Are they getting stable? :-p
*
So far so good. battery drain problem solved in XXJVQ. still RFS but you can flash a kernel and switch to EXT4. for chinese KB you can go to market and download Google PinYin IME. Custom rom are good but not so stable compare to stock rom.

Can't remember what it was like on stock or stock-based custom roms, bro tongue.gif I've been on CM7 since May ha ha. I do notice some significant improvements in battery life in the last 2 nightly releases, though.

6.5 hours on battery so far, 73% left on my fatty battery with 3G, BT, WIFI always enabled - 30 mins of screen-on time, 3 hours of wifi-running time, 33 mins of android-system-awake time..
*
hmm sound like really improve a lot. now my phone low usage for 7 hour still left 85% rclxms.gif love cm7 even more. good job codeworkx thumbup.gif

one question..i read the phone specification before and it stated that SGS has 512mb ram..but why when i check it in task manager, it just has 320++mb only?
*
The reason it shows only 326 instead of 512 is because the OS reserves some amount of RAM for its internal use

What's your current kernel? i'm about to flash to MIUI too, and i think Glitch is the best for now. Tried Neo kernel before, but sometimes do lags also.
*
i using glitch pre-v11. thumbup.gif can try la. more battery consumption but smooth than neo which is laggy.

QUOTE(SheeKenSays @ Jul 7 2011, 10:51 AM)
Guyz~~I'm using F1 Galaxy S2 V6 ROM

Any kernel I can use~~I tried a few but couldn't work~~

Through recovery mode, I installed from zip, it just say aborted~~

Currently using the firmware's kernel~~feel a little bit laggy~~
*
i think rom problem. change rom? haha.

QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Jul 7 2011, 11:14 AM)
I beg to differ. no lag as far as i can notice on my sgs with latest cm7 nightly and stock cm7 kernel.
*
yes. in cm7 is like on "other os" with 1ghz cpu. (please no war icon_rolleyes.gif )

QUOTE(lightning69 @ Jul 7 2011, 11:33 AM)
Are you sure?  Absolutely no lag?  I find it hard to believe.  I have try many roms and all have some lag here and there.

Added on July 7, 2011, 11:35 am

Yeah....but CM7 is not really for daily consumption for most people with the battery drain and bugs.  JMHO
*
i think no one in this world can guarantee any device that will not lag(even Mr. J). for me "other os" will lag too(if you really want to compare icon_rolleyes.gif ). it is depend on how the user optimize their device. smile.gif

QUOTE(gmhafiz @ Jul 7 2011, 12:17 PM)
I can confirm that with CM7, I can't remember any instances where I got a lag. I tested this with nightly #34. The lag has gone long before this nightlies.
#34 is too old, LOL! try the latest #49 you will notice a big improvement on speed and battery life. biggrin.gif
