Generally, SGS2 is faster and smoother.....I compared it side by side with my SGS and try to load apps or load a webpage together....SGS2 is ahead......for eg, in Phone Logs, you can scroll the list smoothly in SGS2 without any lag.... .but you can feel it gets warmer easier after prolonged use...could be due to dual core and thin body...but that is a minor thing...it cools off quickly.

As you might know, SGS2 camera has a pink spot issue but some claimed that it can be fixed with a firmware update...only visible if you take a photo of a white paper or white wall...which we don't usually do in normal situation...

The 1080p video recording is great. The Super Amoled Plus screen is nicer too (in my biased opinion...haha)...

Actually, the main main improvement of SGS2 over SGS (if both running on Stock Rom), is that you will feel SGS2 is faster.
Previous SGS has this famous lag issue due to RFS but not with SGS2 anymore..I was told SGS2 running on EXT4....don't know how to verify......in SGS2 GPS locks quickly and accurately too eventhough I'm indoor...I'm impressed actually.

I haven't played with custom Rom for SGS2 yet....still enjoying the Stock experience for now....but itchy hand will not last long...I already bought the USB Download Jig to prepare for any untowards incident of flashing in the near future...haha  smile.gif

Download "Terminal Emulator" and type "mount" without the quotes. You will see whether it's RFS or EXT4. My guess is that it's RFS still .. not sure though.

Edit: I think it's Ext4 based on reading some forums.

Thanks for the tip...I haven't root my virgin SGS2 yet..so, cannot use Terminal Emulator, right? ..
Anyway, I will try it out after I root the SGS2 in the future...

No root is needed. It can be done without root. Just install terminal emulator.

Use Go SMS pro 3.5.

3.5.8 is broken that it's using 100% CPU every time. I can post the APK here if you guys want (and have the trust in me).

I restored it using Titanium backup (which I luckily have a backup on)

I am using Galnet MIUI V4 and I cannot sign into Google Market and GMail apps.

What I see is a message "Your phone needs to communicate with Google servers to set up your account. This may take up to 5 minutes"

Then after a while, I get this...

"Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server"

I have checked my Wifi connection and its all good.  I can check my gmail via web browser and can surf the web too.  Just cannot go to market as it required sign in and sign it always fail.  I use my PC to access market and can sign in.

I've faced this before. It's a bad flash. Try reflashing and do a factory reset after that. It should work fine.

Did you click any links that require input of your CC details? You might be phished or infected with a virus on your computer that got your CC keywords.

When you registered your card in google market, you computer might have a trojan that capture keys. Hence, it captured your key and sent it to a remote computer.

Just to be sure, scan your computer with malwarebytes.

I registered via my mobile's Market, where the info is stored into my Google Checkout's account.

So I have ruled out my computer having keylogger. Unless my home's wifi was hijacked.  hmm.gif

I use Ryyuu's EDB after removing some applications and init.d scripts and flashing Talon 0.4.2.6 (test version). Pretty stable.

I can send and receive MMS fine with XXJVQ. Why don't you try one of the custom roms that have multi CSC and use nitrality to change your APN?

Sorry, may i ask where to get Chainfire's EXT4? i can't find it in market. i downloaded one "ext4 manager" from somewhere but when i open it came out with "A CF-Root kernel was not detected. ext4 Manager may not function properly". Please guide me how to convert it.. thanks a lot
*
Please read Galaxian's first post throughly and ask questions here if you don't understand what its saying:

QUOTE
* EXT4 manager from Chainfire is still working even if shows up warning message at start! Tweaks app is removed and not supported, all is already build in.

Galaxian is using CF's initramfs. You'll need to ignore the error about it being not compatible and convert to Ext4 there.

Another thing, how did you flash Galaxian?

And Quadrant is bollocks. You can run 10 times and your score could be as low as 1800 or as high as 2800 on the same configuration.

Don't think there's much change except more support for Google Talk voice/video, though theoretically, Google Talk voice/video works on 2.3.3.

that good huh...
mayb i should give it a try...
bored with tw4 although i just flashed it yesterday haha...
gonna try gingerbread aosp theme now

Yes, but it's as smooth as Froyo's speedmod. The only lag I encounter so far is when installing an application from Market (writing to /data) and that happens with every kernel I've tried.
