SOmehow me n wife trust klinik kesihatan better.they really take everything seriously.downside is long wait and uncomfortable facilities.wife is covered under petronas but even with that we still go to klinik kesihatan.now my wife is pregnant with second child and we still plan to deliver in selayang hospital.look up for private, all the numbers looks scary..so many hidden charges.hahah..might as well put those money for family trip in 5 star hotel.lol. i have a cousin who's somehow almost broke after delivery in prince court penang.13k.last2,borrow mother's money.

Basically you need to have strategy on visiting KK.
Each time we visit, the time are sure 2 hours from registering till getting back to our car thumbup.gif
Don't go morning, but go at afternoon, 3pm schedule.
And if your wife delivered at GH, she will be given priority over the people that deliver elsewhere.
If you want to be a cheapskate and enjoy 5 star hotel, do change your wife's address to Seremban. A new hospital with your requirement is here icon_rolleyes.gif

Hahah..we are not harming anyone by preferring GH over private. No one gv birth in the alley while we delivered our first.Plus Sealayng hospital is the nearest hospital just 5km while only small2 private hospital nearby with columbia hosp 20km away.wouldnt you want your wife to be safe n sound with the nearest n round the clock ready for her?why would we go to seremban for that?crazy idea from crazy ppl don u think? We trust the medical team over GH who's more ready for emergency unlike private. You may call me cheapskate for my wife.i call it being safe n wise. And trust me,wife n me hv a mutual decision abt this.we have go through all of our options and in our case,gh is the best way.

The newest hospital is built by government, the first hospital meant for O&G only and almost everything inside are white in color.

I have visited KKIA for first check up, but for private, I yet to decide. Should I go private clinic or to the hospital that I plan to deliver for check up?

Yes, i was told by the nurse that you need to at least visit once klinik kesihatan to register and get the buku merah from the klinik. They when bb wan out you can go to ANY general hospital to deliver. for bb maintainance you can go whichever government hospital to service. Most important is to get the buku merah 1st.

Correct me if i am wrong.

Tropicana Medical Centre:

Consulatation: RM80.00
Scan: RM 50.00

It will get expensive if you get the medicine. If you want to save some money, you can get the normal supplement like obimin in pharmacy, it cost your around 25rgt while the hospital charge you 60rgt for that medicine alone.

My wife check for the status monthly at Cheras Taman Connaught same row as Ambank. RM70 per visit. The scan is not that clear due to older machine but at least it is cheaper than I went to Taman Pertama that cost me RM100

congrats!  imho, if u got time , y not go for both private n gomen. gomen 1 go for klinik famili n kanak (best appointment at evening)near ur place, it gonna take alot of time but wats good ab gomen is they follow all procedure. i.e. alot procedure dat private didnt follow coz for  them its not important. n also d good thing is u gonna hav ur 'buku merah' essential book info ab u n ur baby where u can use this book n deliver any hospitals in malaysia.

if not mistake, u can register wit gomen when u in 3rd months. n when u r in 7th month, d nurse there will write referral letter to nay hospitals u wish to deliver.

Nowadays no need to wait 3 months to start check up with klinik kesihatan.

Hi All, after reading all the threat. Still in the middle of dilemma should I go for Private or Gov? After reading lots of good feedback for Gov.

Would like to give a try on the Gov Clinic.

I'm staying in Bukit Jalil, any Gov Clinic nearby?

Thanks.

RM0.
At KKIA.

Consultation: Free
Medication: Free

Before this did check up at private clinic but the check up was like wasting time. Not thorough, doctor was also not really interested to give consultation. Luckily just use company's insurance.

First child or even first checkup suggest you go government hospital/clinic, they will carry out a more detail checking as well as offering you classes to attend.

Cheers

Checkups are pretty much the same anywhere - urine, Hb, blood pressure, weight etc. Waiting time for me at KK is way shorter than private clinics. I get my vitamins and iron tabs there free.

I only go to see O&G specialist because I hv borderline low amniotic fluid. Need to monitor baby's growth for a couple of weeks. Then no need to see her dy till delivery date.

If no complications then there are no influence in the outcome of the baby, except maybe a better peace of mind to the mother and a scan printout for "awwwww" purposes biggrin.gif

my experience with pantai bangsar and parkcity-

pantai bangsar - around 150 (specialist consultation + ultrasound charge + hospital miscellaneous fee)

park city - 200+ (they charged twice for ultrasound, one paid to doctor and one to hospital shakehead.gif )
