Hi guys..

Im facing a hard time to choose between these 2 devices: SGS II vs Iphone 4

I have both in my hands, and i need to let go one.

I've been using iphone for quite sometime since i changed from DHD, so i knw ip4 quite well.
But the SGS II really tempted me, so i bought it. Been playing around with it, its really nice, but still doubt.


I knw many ppl here hv experience on both devices, so hope u all can share pros n cons to help me or maybe other ppl to decide.

Difficult to tell.. in terms of hardware n OS... i have an idea.. wait for Celcom.Axiata to comment

well for cool/quality apps and don mind lack of customization then Iphone 4...
if you want better UI customization and experience SGS2...

both have its advantages...

Android more free apps but sometimes u hate the adds, especially on wireless broadband it will load when you are using the apps or games...
Apple more quality apps but need to pay if u wanna use full function ones... pls don tell me about JB... hate it...
i got ipad, JB then load a huge amount of apps... but when u need to upgrade is a fruss... u need to reinstall every single thing... maybe i'm not advance enough but i still prefer android...

Sell iPhone or get iPhone 4S/5 or iPad 2. I also sell my iPhone and get SGS2 because I alr own an iPad 2. So I can play cool apps and also enjoy the dual core processor. Lol! iPhone have more high second hand value =p

1stly, ask urslf what is the use of smartphone 4 u other than the normal calling and sms?

both phones are expensive and you already have both.
why duncha try each out for one week and then decide?
nobody can really make the right choice.

for example, one of my staff is a android fanatic. started from magic and now sgs2.
she spends most of her life with the phone, doesn't join much with our social gatherings, stays at home other than coming to work.
she enjoys constantly changing themes to make android look different, always look forward to flashing custom ROMs from the internet.
she finds joy by 'discovering' new capabilities of her android each time she flashes it.
however, she needs to use another cheap nokia bcos some of the android phones that she bought are defective and spend time for rma, cannot reach her during rom flashing, etc.

she's a very good staff, knowledgeable and brought in good sales. in fact geeks money is easy to earn bcos of her.

unfortunately her father had died and she went back to Labu just after valentine's day.

now ppl like her can never understd the beauty and power of iphone. she can live with laggy interface, lack of apps, poor quality just bcos she can get the freedom to do all the nerdy stuffs that she want.

all the goodness and premium feel of iphone is meaningless to nerds/geeks.

so ask urslf, who u are...

Since you have already have SGSII and IP4 on hand, you should know which OS you prefer. If you still don't have a preference, it means you like both equally, then just toss a coin lah, or sell SGSII since it's in demand now.

She doesn't need to understand the 'beauty' and 'power' of iphone, becos she already found what she needs and wants. Same like some iphone users, they don't even know what Android is, they don't need to understand the 'beauty' and 'power' of android, becos iphone can already do what they want.

BTW, Android is not just for geeks, they're for normal people too. I highly doubt the 350,000 new Android phones activation per day are all done by geeks.

P.S. I voted for sgs2 so u can sell ur iphone.


the 350k activations per day (is it arnd the world or just USA?) that u mentioned may be due to these reasons
1) by normal ppl or non-geeks who couldn't afford iphone. android is widely used in low end devices as well.

2) was influenced by geeky frens. ppl usually look for geeks to ask for advice on buying gadgets. unfortunately geeks are mostly fanboys so they couldn't offer a balanced viewpoint or considered that not all ppl are geeks.

3) high number of activation is bcos of many different ROM flashing by the same device?

its the serial number la bro, the warranty starts when they bought it, or use it --> aka activate it

haha... wah so much $$$ to play around with gadgets...

well say... i have Desire Z and Ipad... both have different capabilities...

both phones (or should i say most of the smartphone) did not suit my usage, coz mine is a lil heavy...
worst case i need 2 charge at 1 day for my desire Z, so car charger, battery or even portable charge is a needs... but Ipad just for entertainment and easy reading during home, office or even night "yum cha" session...
is actually very individual preference on gadget choosing...

thats why it is important to find out how this 350,000 activations per day claim is actually calculated?

iPong for those who wan a simple premium phone that just do it regardless if it is really good at it or bad ..... and ... wanna be an iFag ...

Android are for those who wanted a phone with a PC like feel ... fully customized for his own personal preferences ....

In the end both are good ....but it just a matter of personal preferences ....If youre the one that want a phone that just works ... then Ipong
....Android are for those who wan more out of their phone ....

If you like customation, fully freedom and open source go for android. You can change anything thing as you wish.

Iphone no doubt its a good device and it change the world of smartphone. But since after iphone 3g.all I can said is he is just can't on par with android.their so cal new function already provide by android century ago.
