I recently bought a condo and I'm looking forward to have ID and some reno done to it.
The built up is 1362sf with 3bedrooms and 2 baths. I hoping to get it done up to look like those show rooms that we usually see. What would be a ballpark figure that I should be looking at including all the basic electical appliances such as gass cooker, hob, fridge, A/C, etc? The unit is currently unfurnished and vacant. Also, anobody to reccomend me, I would like to have a one stop solution, that is to say, a person/company to cover from Interior Designing to finishing the rest of the work like sourcing for furniture or other sub-contractors... Thanks in advance! |

There are plenty to companies who claim everything under the sky... but then when they really do the work, you will have a headache. By that time, it is too late as you have already committed ... |

Would about RM50k-60k suffice for my built up of 1362sf?? Btw, that would have to include re-tiling as well... Yup, I agree that there are too many companies/contractors that are only good at BS. QUOTE(Kain_Sicilian @ Jun 29 2011, 11:13 AM) Thanks for the prompt reply. Any companies you would particularly reccomend? RM 50-60K will not get you a high class finish that you require. You will however be able to get a decent renovation with good appliances. I did the reno of my condo in 2009 for approx RM 50K including the following:Would about RM50k-60k suffice for my built up of 1362sf?? Btw, that would have to include re-tiling as well... Yup, I agree that there are too many companies/contractors that are only good at BS. 1) Painting & plastering all walls 2) Changing all lights, switches & fan fittings 3) Changing all internal electrical cabling & plumbing 4) Full reno of 2 bathrooms incl tiling, fittings, hacking of bathtub 5) New tiles for master bedroom, kitchen, balcony and both bathrooms 6) Grills on main door and balcony door 7) Full remodel of kitchen using modern kitchen design with granite top (2 lengths) and cabinets 8) New appliances e.g 42" LCD TV, water heaters, fridge, washing machine with drier, built in hob, hood and oven, water purification system, inverter aircons, normal fans & designer fans 9) New double curtains in all rooms 10) New 3+2 leather sofa set 11) 6 seater hard wood dining table 12) Grinding of marble flooring in hall, living room and dining area 13) Re-skin of all existing built in cabinets 14) Construction of new ceiling height built in cabinet on balcony To get this price, i did a tender between 3 contractors (in a format which made evaluation easy). For appliances, i went around and found the cheapest and best places to purchase before getting my contractor to install. The construction alone cost approx RM 30K with the appliances and other fittings & furnishings costing 20K. I think this was a good price considering the fact that condo construction will cost relatively more compared to landed due to access limitations. But sadly, my previous contractor is not contactable anymore thus i need to get another contractor for my 2nd property reno now. |

Its cheaper than solid surface. BUt looks far better and more durable especially to scratches. I went for Black Galaxy. |
