I still haven't managed to update. Anyways, I looked around and found that you can check the type of error ot is by going to /cache/recovery and open the last_log file in a text editor. At the end of the file it would say the type of error you're facing when trying to update. If it is simply some missing or frozen apps then you can just replace or unfreeze them. Mine say verification failed and I Google but to no availed just yet. We'll see if anyone comes up with some solution. All the best.

You have to be rooted in order to do that. And it is not the recovery file. Recovery is the folder, there is a log in there. That's the one you wanna check out.

So I have to root my tablet before update?
I thought rooted tablet is unable to update 3.1??
If possible, can you show me step by step? I am newbie here..

Added on July 8, 2011, 1:58 amUpdated successfully at last. Restored recovery image and unrooted. The update went smooth.can't really really feel that much of a difference in speed but the GPS lock is way way faster.
