Update fails everytime. Called the acer support and the first lady i talked to didn't even know about the tablet, then talked to a different guy and he told me to do factory reset first. Haven't tried it yet but seems kinda stupid that a factory reset is needed for an update. This is really dissapointing. I was really looking forward to the update. Wil try it again after a full backup and post the results later.

I still haven't managed to update. Anyways, I looked around and found that you can check the type of error ot is by going to /cache/recovery and open the last_log file in a text editor. At the end of the file it would say the type of error you're facing when trying to update. If it is simply some missing or frozen apps then you can just replace or unfreeze them. Mine say verification failed and I Google but to no availed just yet. We'll see if anyone comes up with some solution. All the best.

QUOTE(seanlss @ Jul 7 2011, 09:57 PM) i did not see the recovery file in the cache folder... You have to be rooted in order to do that. And it is not the recovery file. Recovery is the folder, there is a log in there. That's the one you wanna check out. Added on July 8, 2011, 1:58 amUpdated successfully at last. Restored recovery image and unrooted. The update went smooth.can't really really feel that much of a difference in speed but the GPS lock is way way faster. This post has been edited by NeWsauCE: Jul 8 2011, 01:58 AM

QUOTE(fazryle @ Jul 11 2011, 11:41 AM) is there any different between custom rom H.C 3.1 with stock rom?? do the stock rom more smooth? Custom roms are cooked up according to the taste of the creator. Usually it is more bloated but that is not always the case. You have to read the description of the rom to know more about that. They have the same base so to say which one is smoother or if one is smoother than other you have to personally test it out or ask around the users. If you ask me then I would say that custom roms which are heavily customized may prove to be more buggy than the stock. But please do keep in mind sometimes its the exact opposite. It depends from rom to rom so the only way to know which one is smooth just try it out. Its not that hard to have custom rom running on your tab, it takes less than 30 minutes, and then if you don't like it just revert back to your stock.
