Does anyone using Locktech for your cars ?

Once installed, will it hit much on the knee ? for a tall person ?
I mean not blocking entirely but will the knee touch it when driving & making uncomfortable feels ?

Any better & convenient car security than this ?
I like because no need to take out & put other places like the Steering Lock. It is fixed on it.
Simple & Convenient for Users. Also take longer time for thief to open rclxms.gif

Any Pro & Con using this Locktech Pedal Locking Devices ?

Thanks.

Using it in my Hilux. Does not disturb ur driving in any way, I`ll say its wayyy better then any other steering/pedal lock in the market.

I get it from Shorty last week. So far so good. On my Inspira, no problem at all, won't kena your leg or anything unless you forgot to unlock it.....in which case u can't start your car anyway...LOL.

i am about 5"11 btw. No problem.

Pros:
- Convenient. You'll continue to use it, unlike those StopLock...really "chor theng"(needs a lots of space and uncovenient), cause u need to put it somewhere in ur car when not use.
- Can't start car if not unlocked.
- not too expensive.

Cons:
- Need to dismantle dashboard when install....

Overall, highly recommended. I won't use those dumb Stoplock (useless anyway...coz thieves can saw your steering wheel in 5 seconds, even if your StopLock is made from diamond). Other cheaper pedal locks, those old fashioned style wan, too cumbersome, and you might not lock it properly. With locktech, you can be sure it's locked correctly every time, just pull until click sound, then press the other lock until click.

(PS: Shorty, am i getting commission for giving u free ad???)

I'm using it, so far so good and it don't take much space in the leg room. Also never open up dashboard to install, slightly remove the plastic panel below the steering to plug the wiring stuff, that's all.

Beware of fake products, Locktech only come from Thailand.

been selling for 7 years, none came back, so can actually ignore the warranty.. Haha

actually theres no such thing as ori or fake

locktech is the first to came out

and local company started producing it too, so basically we cnt say its fake

and theres few local company producing it, but by far the closest rival to locktech is locktact, which have the most similarity to locktech, in terms of double lock and the y socket

and most importantly the key design which isnt easy to duplicate

so, as long as we see the name "Locktech" is there, it is Originally from Locktech & not re-producing by the local manufacturer?

About the Key Designs,
How many Keys it came with the Locktech Devices ?
If those Local manufacturer (eg. Locktact), will they able to follow the original "Locktech" key design too ?

Refer to this thread: http://forum.autoworld.com.my/index.php?showtopic=83932

Usually original Locktech will cost around RM300 to RM400. Anything that is below RM200 is fake or not genuine Locktech product.

I remember few years ago someone question about would frontal accident and the fix position of LockTech be deadly, and the seller can't show any proof saying it's safe... and the debate goes on till today.

I think it would be safer if that thing is not secure there permanently.

Yeah, I also want to know this too ... shocking.gif

I think those Locktech manufacturer won't that everycar to test center, otherwise it cost a bomb to get it compliance in safety. Especially for Global market usage.

Is there any Locking Devices in the world can get Safety Compliance for their vehicle usage ? sweat.gif

why so urgent? someone targeting ur vehicle? hmm.gif

Anyway, what car u want to installed into?

From what I know, certain cars only compatible with LOCKTECH,
if ur car not in the list, possible can use LOCKTACT as another best alternative for ur vehicle compatibility.

what i know is this...
Those Installer supply & install, LOCKTECH also got supply & install, LOCKTACT.
It depends on the Car compatible with which brand.

I've known that LOCKTECH is not compatible with Perodua Alza.
That is why the Installer use LOCKTACT instead on my Perodua Alza.
So, depends to your Car to which brake lock device is compatible with it.

If one brand & series car is compatible with both. Then better get the Locktech, sure expensive that the Locktact.

it will not affect the knee - but pls try first before paying as some cars have less clearance when you brake, sometimes the foot will catch on the handle

some might ask would it be more difficult to press the brake pedal when we install the lock due to the fact that it is located below the steering

so wat azeotrope is trying to prove here is, that there's still plenty of space left and the chances of the lock causing difficulties in pressing the brake pedal is very very low icon_rolleyes.gif

careful with a brand named locktact, rmb to inform whoever that has not driven your car b4.

my sis car was installed with it and one fine day the neighbour was helping to move the car without realizing the lock is in place. She did not unlock it and surprisingly managed to shift the gears and tadaaa...no brake and off she goes hitting another car and finally come to a stop upon hitting a tree. wink.gif

How he start the car w/o release the lock? I though mostly the technician will link the starter with Brake, U can't start the car w/o press the brake.

This is not really to install, difference model and diff. Type of install angle.
Even you want open the screw at the small edge then your hand can't slot and no idea to open it.
All the install or uninstallation only done at car accessories shop.

Cause they knew the electronic wire to plug in which connection point,

But it is more advance on if you didn't open the locktech is can't allow you to start engine smile.gif

Any side by side pics of Locktech (Thai product) & Locktach ( Msian) to compare?
Differences? Quality of materials used? Drill-proof keylocks? Etc?
Feel if lock can b fitted, it can also b removed by reverse process, true?
If so, main selling point is convenience in use ie compared to a removable brake pedal locking device eg Solex. Agreed?
TQ in adv.

we have many people not knowing how the double lock thingy work, so hope the simple pic above would give u guys a rough estimation

and in most scenario once lock, engine cannot be started, as most lock these days comes with the y socket ( plug n play ) so no worries of voiding warranty

however, as stated, not all , only a very small minority of cars model doesn't have the cut off feature.

so best to ask your installer before getting things done

I use this to lock my clutch. I wouldn't say it's better than Locktech, but it's definitely cheaper than Locktech with same functionality and more secure than the club type steering lock.

Bro,

I am confused . . . . some recommends RedBat instead of Locktech for my new Myvi.

REASON given was that RedBat keys (holed type) cannot be copied compared to LockTech's (cut style). Both cost around the same price (RM300 v RM320, respectively)

Any user, do share your views.

Thanks in advance

*
Believed there are super genius in duplicating any forms of keys.

Should say in this way:
Looking at the level of duplicating the key, the holed type is harder than the cut type.

Not only the key itself, sometimes the price is different because of its brand and its production.
See if you prefer for either price or quality.

OK GUYS, I need some FEEDBACK's here. hmm.gif hmm.gif hmm.gif

I just bought this techlock and found out some major CONS here unless you guys can explain to me how to overcome the situation.

The techlock function should be:

rclxms.gif 1) Prevents the gear shifter from being moved from P (brake pedal shift lock system) by prevent the brake pedal to be fully depressed with using this locktech device.

rclxms.gif 2) Ignition cut off with Y socket.

Bypass:

doh.gif 1) Modern car nowdays have shift lock button, this act as a bypass for a gear shifter. without need press of pedal brake, u can still shift your gear by simply push the shift lock button together during gear transition. YES! u still can't use the brake, but who (theft) cares? he still can manage drive away your car with use of hand brake for brakes.

doh.gif 2) ignition cut off can simply being bypass by disconnect the Y socket and connect the socket back as factory setting as its plug n play. right?

I'm here not to sabotage anyone business or try to be theft expert. but I myself figure this out after 1 month of installation.

so the question here, what is the use of this locktech if the security system can be easily bypass. rclxub.gif

I'm welcoming any comment that will counter any of my 'bypass' method so i myself won't feel insecure when park my car with this locktech device.

Thanks for writing your feedback on this item.

Undeniably that the market contains the car theft experts who could disappear your car within few seconds. Although this is rare, what we could do is to enhance the car security such as adding alarm devices or lock systems.
This lock is not easy to bypass, and it needs time to do so. Being the car theft, time is the essence, the shorter time taken is better.

In short, installing this lock would increase the security of your car & the difficulty of losing your car.
Sometimes, it is also advisable to be cross-used with other products to share their respective advantages.

i am not sure if the new version of locktech have LED. I installed mine 3 years ago and it doesn't have LED. The thing about locktech is that it is not visible. I think most of the times car locks need to be shown. So that potential thief will choose another car that is easier to steal. Else they broke the glass or lock and then only found out got locktech. By that time they already damaged the car and cost you money to repair.

Still, locktech is easy and convenient to use than conventional steering lock. I would not hesitate to install this when I get a new car.

i read somewhere car theive spray wd40 on the stoplock and push hard on the pedal to slide the lock down. is that possible?
for those who say stoplock not visible they can stick the yellow sticker provided somewhere visible.
since the lock clamp on the steering shaft will it affecft the collapsable steering safety feature?
i have used it on my car for 5 yrs.

spray wd40 on the steering shaft and stomp hard
on the pedals to push the lock down :-)

You can go to the company as stated on the warranty card.

The most direct way is to claim from your seller.

Nope, it's a pedal lock and it only locks ur brake pedal. None if its part touches the steering at all. At most they just cut off ur ignition. You look at the product u can see there's no way it can stiffen ur steering man

Hi.

Locktech is still a good choice for pedal lock? What if there's some problem with it - maybe accident or something.. will it cause any problems?
maybe get jammed or something and you can't unlock?

Other than locktech, are there other types/brands of pedal locks?

Thanks

I'm using Aorto for my HRV

My feedback:
Pros:
-Easy to use instead of those other type of mechanical locks like steering lock, pedal lock etc
-Has light to show the keyholes
-Keyholes are side by side making it easy.
-Solidly built
-So far no interfere with my size 11 shoes.

Cons:
-The price of course. Most Aorto go for RM450 above
-The Pull lever too deep inside. Need to stretch a bit to get to it.
-The connector to disable the engine looks like a permanent fix, which is good if you want forever use it. But if you want to take it out due to some reason, you are going to have a hard time dismantle.

No matter what security u install, the thief can have options to open your car security.

Mine was installed with Safeguard(not sure correct brand, but with red color) brake lock + gps security location assist. Hopefully no bad thing happens with my car.

It connects to the brake switch. This is to disable engine starting when it's in locked position from what I can remember. (I removed mine after a few days as the tip of my shoes kept hitting the lock).
