Luckily i was turned off by VW's interior. The TSI engines and the performance figures were what attracted me last time.

Is it a common problem or is it only the older TSI engines?

Thanks for your comments bro ! biggrin.gif  I was using wrong word maybe? The "Whenever" doesn't mean we can shift gear any time but with common knowledge of changing gear. Of course you can't upshifts when the rev is too low ! hahaha... same thing, you can't simply downshifts your gear when you are in high speed.

I believe everyone should understand when is the timing to upshifts or downshifts the gear right? Sorry, i thought everyone will know that because i drive a manual car more than 10 years. My hand and leg will move automatically whenever i want to change gear... same to paddle shifter sad.gif

it helps if you don't rest you palm or your gear knob. I kena once when i stomped on the brake when i was driving another auto car. Luckily i was driving slowly and there was no car behind.

Can still drive till your fuel tank runs dry, then cannot start. So be careful, don't leave your engine running unattended. Don't leave your love ones in the car unattended too. recalled a few cases where people hijacked the car along with children inside, and also that Subang Jaya case whereby they also raped the young wife of the car owner.

Which case for this? Got link?

Try searching "Subang Jaya car hijacked and raped" in google and you'll see some reports. It happened in June last year, that poor lady must be traumatised for life.

There's another case that i recalled, this man who left his child in the car while he goes off to tapau breakfast in the morning. Some scumbag jacked his car and drove off with the kid inside. Everyone was panicked but luckily the kid was dropped off somewhere. It happened late last year i believe.

Ask him to join lo~! We start at 9am though.
No deny that Camry is more comfortable compare to K5. This is mainly due to more quiet engine. Today I went for some sound proofing for my car and the result is beyond my expectation~! I did the STP sound proofing for my engine bonnet, part of the floor and 4 doors. I not sure on how to describe in words but basically the outside and engine noise been reduced at least 50% and the doors felt more like a continental car's door now. Cant accurately measure the difference until compare to a stock K5. Below is some of the pic that I took and the installer will took more pics and will post it later. Driving more comfortable car with all K5 goodies.

Wah, one major item on my wish list. But, open everything like that, tak sayang ke?

What's the price? can PM me? How's the quality as compared to Dynamat? thumbup.gif

On a different note, seems like the new upcoming Proton Preve 1.6L Turbo is getting quite good reviews. Plus it seems quite value for money (RM 75,000) considering the specs ure getting.

Initial spec list:

1) 138Hp, 205Nm torque (more powerful than Altis 2.0V at 144Hp, 187Nm)
2) 7 speed CVT Protonic auto transmission with Sports mode and paddle shifters
3) 0 – 100kmph in 9.6 secs (Kia Optima is 10.9 secs)
4) First Proton with Euro 5 environmental emission standards
5) First Proton to use Hot Press Forming high tensile strength body
6) Certified by Australian NCAP
7) 4 airbags
8) Anti Lock Braking System (ABS)
9) Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD)
10) Brake Assist (BA)
11) Electronic Stability Control (ESP)
12) Shortest full braking stopping distance from 100km – 0 in 36.8m compared to Altis and Civic
13) Improved Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH) insulation
14) European handling
15) 16 inch rims
16) Spacious interior & more rear legroom
17) 10 year power window warranty
18) First Proton Global Car
*
Unfortunately, more power than ours too. Anyone going for BOT? I really do hope that in future, some creative Korean fella will come out with a plug and play BOT kit for K5:
2.0 MPI
165 PS (121 kW; 163 hp) @ 6200 rpm
20.2 kg·m (198 N·m; 146 lb·ft) @ 4600 rpm

Acceleration wise the Proton beats the Optima but for high speed the Optima rules with its superior horsepower.

Agree, speaking of highway speed, i kena cucuk by so many super Myvi at 150kmh. What really intrigued me is that most if not all of them are white color stock looking Myvis. Respect. shakehead.gif

I've driven my friend's 1.3 auto Myvi, pedal to the metal but that thing was not willing to move at all and utterly hopeless on highways. How did those white Myvis do it? blink.gif

QUOTE(gregy @ Apr 6 2012, 02:17 PM)
I also sometimes kena with my Forte. Especially after installing the pubic hair car mat lol... I also normally drive with my right shoe off, so my sock rubbing on plastic pubes = recipe for static shocker. But these days seldom get it la, only when it's cold and dry.
*
With so much static charge, your pubic hair and the mat must be all standing straight. laugh.gif

Looks like K5 is getting more and more desirable eh? Hopefully naza won't bring in other colours or 2.0 turbo suddenly.

If the current running number is WWQ 2xxx and i want WWR 9889 before end month..how much would it cost roughly? Do i need to book in advance?
*
Tendering a number is easy, it is just the time that it takes from submitting tender to putting your car on the road.

I've gone through it myself without runner and got my triple number plate (eg. 1112) for merely RM3XX.

9889 as far as i could remember no body would bid it usually, but you must rush to JPJ to buy it as soon as it turns WWR, before somebody takes it from you.

Go google "wheelersgate", it compiles some old tendering results which is very very useful for your JPJ adventure.

Personally i'd prefer to tender as there's no dispute or hidden procedures once you get your number allocated. When i went to the counter to check for my preferred number, i was asked to "bincang" with the pengarah as they have kept the number away for "sale". People can be a bit difficult when they have something you want. You know la. shakehead.gif

How do you guys find the static bending lights? Is it any good? I know its a 2nd rate system compared to the active bending lights.

Also, how do you find the interior mood lights?
*
I find the bending light ok woh, very sensitive and helpful. It even dims slowly after you straighten your wheels.

Mood lights are a little too dim. But i don't dare to disturb them as they are a part of the electronic systems.

I've got two noisy parts in my car, the rattling sunroof and driver seat near the seat adjustors. The seat always emit "ngyek ngyek" noise when i move my butt around. I had to stuff a piece of paper between the leather and the plastic trim to eliminate the noise.
