QUOTE(faizdesire @ Jun 26 2011, 12:52 PM)
Hello guys, after using rom based on sense for almost a year, now I changed to AOSP rom( MIUI XJ) and so far I enjoyed this new experience. Great rom with solid rom development.

But there are problem/bugs in this rom which I hope some of you can help me with,

1) regarding Miui Camera, as I read before, this is well known bug and the solution is new kernel (most recommend ManU kernel) . Can someone help me regarding this matter, I had read it in XDA forum and still bewildered. If u can describe to me in an easiest and simple way because due to my lack of english comprehension? I want to know which kernel is best for me and how should i install it in my Desire?

Thanks for advance....
*
To install a new kernel just flash it thru recovery like flashing a rom

can u guys recommend me stable gingerbread ROM? tried cm7.03 but always stuck or force close. reflex always full phone space even if ive installed apps to ext. mine is not s-off tho
*
Oxygen? If feel not enough space got 2 options. Either repartition your sd card to have a bigger ext part. Or s-off and flash cm7 hboot and use it together with a2sd+

Added on July 10, 2011, 11:39 pmGuys,
same problem before and after changing my desire motherboard..
hang and reboot, keep rebooting only..

but then without sim card and sd card phone can use..
with only sd card also cannot..

send to sis warranty again??  @.@
*
Then it might be your sd card or sim card is faulty? Try it with a different sd card or sim.

hi guys,
i wanna root my desire again. the more i read from xda and 1st page, more confuse i am now..

i try (really).. i tried using unevoked method, but i am stuck..
i found that my hboot is 0.92, so i need to downgrade to 0.80 right? before i going further.. correct?

after that i need to root my desire, then S-off edi? what does the reason behind it?

then what is custom recovery? - CM7, amonra  ?? reason ?

ADB ?? my pc show have this sign "!"

i have android interface edi..
*
No need downgrade iinm. Latest unrevoked should support your hboot. Not really sure bout this as its been a year since i rooted with unrevoked. Anyways do you have the htc drivers installed? After root its not s-off yet. S-off is a different process and if you don't know what it is you probably don't need it. if you root using unrevoked by default you will have cwm recovery. The alternative recovery would be amon-ra. CM7 stands for cyanogen mod 7. Its a custom rom. Recovery is used to wipe all your data and flash custom roms or some recovery can be used to partition the sd card also.

now my desire is rooted..

about S-off, is necessary or not ?
as i can see almost all custom rom and desire user is S-off..

the main reason of usage for S- off is for wat ?? unsure.gif
*
It's not a necessity unless you feel A2SD+ storage not enough for you or you prefer installing apps on internal. Usually ppl s-off to flash custom hboot eg cm7 which has about 300mb free space on internal.

look like i am the only one having problem in memory?? or no one have upgrade to official 2.3.3??
*
I think iit might be due to the upgrade. Since htc state before they were having problems with memory when upgrading the desire to gingerbread. Not too sure though just a suspicion. Think most if not all people here are using custom roms

When you partition your card it will be formatted also so do backup before you partition it

Just wondering if anyone has used their desire in full naked glory for a prolonged period of time. Did your screen get scratched or is it fine?

when u say different type of recovery, meaning using any one of them is no problem?
recovery here izzit = original rom recovery?

correct me if i'm wrong, s-off = permanent root rite?
*
Using any one of them would be fine. 2nd question i don't really get what you're asking. Basically the recovery is used to wipe everything before flashing a new rom. You're already perma rooted after using unrevoked but with s-off you have total control over your phone. Eg can flash different hboots . Hope this helped smile.gif

current recovery : ClockworkMod 5.0.2.0

how to flash other recovery?
*
You don't really have to back up the stock rom though, if you wanted to go back to stock can always download the ruu and flash it. Or just choose a custom rom that's as close to stock as possible. I've seen one or two roms which claim to be stock cept for a few apps they've removed. Before flashing a new rom though you can install mybackup pro or titanium backup to backup your apps and smses . Then once on your new rom just restore. Don't have to dl everything again.
