Which version MIUI you using? XJ or Au?

If Au, they support Ext3.

Not many roms using Ext2 though... Most of the roms either Ext3/Ext4.

That hboot, basically modifies your total internal storage in space allocation given.

You know like spec say our phone has 512MB int mem right but when you use it, only has 1XXMB usable right? Yeah so basically that's what you change. You change the allocation MB for the ROM, cache and data (storage for you to use)

look @ the Oxygen r2, which I am using, 100MB for ROM, 5MB for something forgot, then 333MB for data.
So my phone will show I have 333MB available.

Ok?  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
This hboot allocate for system, cache and data partition

So in your case, 100MB for /system, 5MB for /cache and 333MB for /data

Currently, I'm testing CM 7.1 stable release. But got an error when applying theme in Theme Chooser. It was a HDPI theme though hmm.gif
QUOTE
Sorry, this theme is missing assets for your device's screen size screen size

Set few themes also came out same error. Although the themes still can be use if ignored the error.

Anyone facing same problem?

Im flashing to CM7.1 now. I think the ROM is the culprit. My battery only can last me approximately 6 hours.

Any easy way to S-Off besides the AlphaRev??
*
Use Revolutionary tools.

http://revolutionary.io/

I find this is much easier than Alpharev (USB stick/ burn dvd/cd)

guys, I want to know which recovery easy to use for Desire, AmonRa or CWM ..? and 4EXT Recovery stable or not to be use for Desire.  hmm.gif
*
4EXT is my current favourite... This recovery gives higher transfer speed when enable USB toggle (access SD card)

Plus this recovery 'claim' that can perfectly aligned the SD and SD-ext partition.

I'm not using nandroid backup though. So can't comment on that.

@hazril

Corrupted HBOOT maybe?

QUOTE(ShinnKQ @ Dec 6 2011, 06:33 PM)
Flash wrong RUU or older then see what happen.

ApisJay needed gold card to get out of bricking from that.

*Don't recall could be wrong
*
In my case, I only bricked the LCD screen because of running older RUU (1.19*something*) which is for early AMOLED set. My phone is SLCD set.

I tried the goldcard method but I'm not sure the goldcard is working or not. ohmy.gif

What I do is using PBIMG99.zip extracted from the RUU 2.2 itself and loaded during bootloader screen. At that time, you can't see a thing sweat.gif and once driver loaded, the LCD turn it on again.. rclxm9.gif

If doesn't boot up that time, I probably end up using another phone. tongue.gif

yes, i'm using official gingerbread for dev. my hboot is 1.02.0001 which is supported by Revolutionary.

however, i got a few questions.
1)according to the step by step guide by this website http://theunlockr.com/2011/08/02/how-to-ga...utionary-method, it says after i s-off my phone, it will ask whether i want to install clockwork recovery or not. however, according to the sabastian runnymede rom guide, it requires me to use 4ext cause it requires a touch driver or something like that.

2)so lets just say, i choose not to install the clockwork recovery, but i cant install 4ext recovery after that cause my phone is not rooted yet. cause to root i will require to have a recovery. so how am i gonna install the 4ext?

thanks!
*
1) Since you are newbie I suggest you installed clockworkmod (CWM) as your first recovery. Then after that you can install 4ext recovery.

2) Your phone by now is S-OFF therefore is perma-root. Other recovery such as 4ext, CWM & etc. can be install via fastboot. I recommend you to use Fastboot Commander. The program itself pretty simple to use.

Of coz you need a lot to READ and UNDERSTAND what you going to do.

Familiar yourself with rooting/flashing. Actually rooting is easy if doing it right.

In addition of what ShinnKQ has mention, revolutionary tools will let you S-OFF and will be ask to install 'recovery' which is the most important tools in flashing custom ROM.

Been using Sandvold's ICS, Zero_Cool's CM9 and Miui v4_Au

Most of the roms, I had problem with MMS either sending or receiving. Im on Digi tho.

But today I'm using latest ICS miui V4 from Au, mms is working. rclxm9.gif

TBH, I'm more interested on CM9. Looks promising... thumbup.gif

Look for RUU below especially for SLCD set.
