The No.1 question I want to know about N9 is, does it take better photos than N8.

No2 question is, how long will the battery last.

Please tell me more about this N8 slow, lag hang etc. Were you doing a lot of multi-tasking for it to do that?

Maybe nokia has reduce their price..like n8 and e6 first launch... biggrin.gif

If that's the case then this is good news..

What's N8 first launch price last year? I presume the original price is now around RM1250 - 1300?

With the launch of N9, I really do hope the N8 goes down to RM1000 and I will get one.

The price for Nokia devices is not justified if you're comparing with devices priced similarly since most other devices are packed with better
It depends on what you want your phone for. For example, if you install Garmin and want to get a USA maps, you have to pay USD100. And if you want a Australia map, you pay another USD100 and if you go more country, your maps will cost more than your phone. But with Nokia, all maps are free so if maps is important to you, Nokia is dirt cheap. Heck, with the price for all those maps, you can even consider Nokia phone are free. Where got expensive? laugh.gif

Yes, for certain program like photo viewer etc, it can be soooooooooo slow. You can fall asleep sometimes. The No.1 thing holding me onto Nokia is the maps. Luckily I do not play games.

As for camera photo quality, heard Nokia is one of the better one so was surprised when you think their camera is nothing special.

True, many app stores have a high number of useless 'fart' apps so having a high app count isn't really important. What's important are the number of genuinely useful apps.

For me the apps I consider important are ebook reader, internet streaming radio, unit converter, currency converter, news apps like BBC or CBS, offline dictionaries, entertainment apps like Daily Motion, Movie Trailers, Youtube, jokes, illusions, GPS utilities like Smart Runner and social media apps like Whatsapp, Foursquares, ebuddy and facebook chat. There should also be a good selection of games. Let's face it, we don't buy a smartphone just for calls, sms and email.

For N9 to succeed as a mass market smartphone it need to have these general apps fast. The N900 is fine without them because it was never aimed at the mass market but the N9 will die standing. I foresee many users buying the N9 due to the seductive hardware but giving up after a few months due to lack of apps.

What's the difference between Smartrunner and Spots Tracker?

Let's do a survey. How many apps does a person on average installs on their phone (Nokia, iphone, BB, Andriod or whatever). 10? 100? 1000? 10,000?

not true. price of phones is heavily subsidized and some can even go for free with the right mobile plan.
have yet to seen a premium smartphone go for free in malaysia yet.

What are you talking about? The unsubsidized prices are RM 1799 for 16GB and RM 2088 for 64GB.

According to the official Nokia specs it is a viewer for Word, Excel, Powerpoint, pdf and Open Document format.

I don't think that is a deal breaker for me. I paid RM14 for the Picsel Smart Office whose PDF viewer is miles ahead of the default viewer in performance.
