Does the misalignment causes any issues?

Eh? I thought if it is misaligned, then you cant use the filco wire keypuller to pull the key, unless you depress the key down first. On reference to the post on Geekhack.....
*
you can make a pin hook, and using keycap puller to pull another end, well, if it's a little, you can still use the keycap puller, but if it is seriously over misaligned, then you still suffer the problem which mention by Geekhack

luckily my keyboard is still working, but with some scratches on it, used it to block attacks from the robber.

both of your post actually makes me LOL biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

This is slowly becoming a keyboard violence discussion. But nevertheless, Solid Quality is still one of the important factor in keyboard which influence typing.

But who knows, maybe one day, robber comes to rob you, you can count on your hefty Keyboard for self defense eh? provided with removable cable for handy travel and chasing robber tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

hey guys,

hoping to jump from G15 to a mechanical keyboard. Any significant difference between normal keyboard and mechanical? Not sure if its worth the leap of faith. Currently looking at the Ultimate Black Widow. Not interested in the normal Black Widow coz no backlight...not used to since i come from a backlit G15
*
if you're looking for Backlit Mechanical Keyboard, we do suggest you grab Ducky shine instead of Razer Blackwidow, as Quality should be better.

For me i would choose Ducky Shine over Razer Blackwidow over various reason, well, personal reason is "i don't like glossy stuff, looks good when new, looks like crap when scratched."

Do you have stocks for Topre Realforce keyboards (full size black ones) ?

I am considering whether to get one to replace my Filco brown switch keyboard in the office.
*
no, i do not have stock for the moment, my next batch of keyboard arrival is at november, if you want, you can place a order with me, and it will be ship together with my next batch of keyboard, futher discussion please use pm, i don't want mod use aeroplane dogfight and shoot my ass. tongue.gif tongue.gif

anyway, my demo topre appears to be same model as the one you have right now, the keyboard are surprisingly good. i have to agree that the keyboard is indeed has a more "smooth" feeling then a brown. one thing i still haven't get comfortable with are the QAZ line, they are much more lighter as my finger are not getting use to it.

Ok, let's discuss in your sales thread.

Do you find the topre switches a lot quieter than the regular mech keyboards?

I do find it very enjoyable to type on.
*
i think if this discussion if it's about mechanical keyboard, then it's okay, sales related have to go with pm and or sales thread there. I'm quite scare with mod warning me, =)

yes, personally i found them more enjoyable to type compare to brown, not sure why thou, maybe personal preference.(i like the smooth feeling).

QUOTE(Human10 @ Oct 22 2011, 12:40 PM)
So actually, what version of Topre having uniform force for all keys?

Because I am not typing using the ''correct'' way of typing, I almost dont use my pinky finger at all(except left Shift). Thus, I will prefer all keys to be uniform.
*
For all keys to be uniform, try looking at the keyboard model, there should be a alphabet difference, but the easily noticeable part are the keyboard name which has 35g/45g/55g at the end.
QUOTE
SE0200 Realforce 103U (White)
SE02B0 Realforce 103UB (Black)
SE02C0 Realforce 103UB 55g (Black)

which you can see here, the model number has a slightly difference alphabet. SE02B0 and SE02C0.
But for safety instead of guessing, please directly ask the seller what's the difference between these 2 model number or asking if uniform weight keyboard are available would be good. If the product they listed does not provide any information regarding weight uniform details.

The only uniform ANSI layout Realforce I know of are the 103U 55g, 104U 45g, 86U 45g (from cyclone's sales thread) ,87U 45g, 87U 55g
More on the ISO and Japanese layout front but I didn't do much research on those
*
if you guys have any kind of special request i can try to ask headquarter out to see if it's available.

Btw, i just finish cutting my finger nails to type topre keyboard, definitely more better, was feeling awkward with long feeling nails typing a topre keyboard.

Edited: Added.

Bottoming the Realforce keyboard doesn't have any kind of clacking sound.

What brand is the black and white keyboard?
*
it is my leopold FC500R mix with KBC PBT Keycaps.

QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Oct 22 2011, 06:37 PM)
Clacking sound is when you release the switches quickly
Bottoming out, and typing quickly you should hear Topre domes farting
That should be his Leopold in KBC PBT mix and match set
*
yeah, that's my keyboard.

For Topre domes farting, i've been doing for like 5 mins, still can't get the farting sound. only my ass is the one that is farting. LOL

i have been using the Topre non stop for like 2 days.

The Keyboard is surprisingly good, as well as the typing feeling that it's given to me.

The Video above practically says it all, this is much more better than the Cherry MX Brown that i tried, the feeling is really smooth and tactile feedback is pleasant.

I think this would be my main keyboard now. Let's hunt some Topre Keycaps.... LOL

Interesting.

Do they have full size keyboard?

From Elitekeyboards, it appears that Happy Hacking keyboards are tenless keyboard.
*
they are not tenkeyless keyboard. they are smaller than tenkeyless. which remove the numpad, F1~F12, Directional Button, print screen, scroll lock, pause, insert, home, delete, end, page up, page down.

Yes, they are somewhat like KBC Poker 40%, which only has total key of 60.

and to mention their price are some similar to Topre Realforce keyboard, but expensive than 103U Realforce. 300USD for 1 HHKB keyboard.

Why the MX reds are more expensive than the other switches such as the blue, black and brown???
Is there really so much difference it them???? Arent they just switches???? And so far didnt saw any OEM making MX Clears.... no other than Cherry themselves
*
it is due to higher demand, so you can notice MX red are more expensive than other switch such as blue, black and brown.

Currently now, you can see that quite a number of new mechanical keyboard product that is adopting usage of Cherry MX Red.

Edit : Fixed.

Eh??? I thought higher demand will make the switches to be produced more, then will be cheaper? You mean the demand for the reds are high, but the production are in limited quantity???
*
This will have to depends on the manufacturer.

It is up to manufacturer to either raise the output or maintaining the output while the demends gets higher.

There is a high risk of increasing the output as when Cherry MX Red gets more and more common, the demands will gets lower and lower by time goes.

Demand > Output = Better market price maintaining, and better margin profit

Output > Demand = Selling in big quantities to get better margin profit (Since price are lower, has to use quantities to cover up )
