Yes, you are right, you need a HDMI splitter (1x2) and a HDMI double Cat5E/6 extender to do it, but you have to make sure the Cat5 cable must be at least Cat5E and above, then you can extend the HDMI signal to 60 meters by using the HDMI extender. (Lots of china made Cat5E cable claim that they are Cat5E but actually they are only Cat5, so if you want to make sure everything work than is better for you to have Cat6 cable)

I have the same plans to extend my Astro from living room to the master room. On top of the questions posed by tuckheng, I would like to ask, can we also control the Astro channels using a remote inside the master room upstairs while the set top is at the living room downstairs? Do we require a separate module, and do you have suggestions to hook it up together with the HDMI extender? I prefer a wired solution if possible, and I do have Cat5E LAN ports wired throughout my house.
