Please do so.  laugh.gif
Comme De Garcons is a designer frags? There's a lot of niche frags that you tested before, some of them I never heard of it before.
Thanks for the feedback, Gucci Pour Homme II is the best. Though lack of projection. How about other suggestion, besides these two?
Which of course, the one that projects well, not close to skin fragrance.

CDG can be considered niche.

thanks for the suggestion bugb34r!

Stuffi you're right, but let me tell you why. I'm actually clearing my credit card points heh...

hence some of the options are those that i mentioned above. They've also got Burberry Beat, Salvatore Ferragamo, Paco 1 Million, Kenzo L'eau Par, amongst other.

They've also got CK Eternity, Man, DKNY frags, but these are probably too similar to what I already have.

My next to get scent. Is it suitable for office use? Does it get cloying in hot weather? How about the longevity and projection?

hi bugbear,

good choice, depending on whats the nature of your office, generally in malaysia is acceptable, unless you literally bathe in it... well depends on how do you mean by hot weather? do you work outdoors often? if like 8-6pm you are in aircond most of the time, it make no different even you are wearing a winter frag, rule of thumb = spray less if you know you are going outdoor most of the time..
personally i wear like 6-8 shots regardless of the perfume, then if i find it really too cloying, lessen the dosage later on..

the longevity and projection works well on my skin, it generally last a whole day for me..even the projection as well,

if you find it too strong while you are testing, you can opt la nuit de le homme parfum version

like what they say, its a compliment getter,

as commented by jonny, in asian culture, its not a norm we compliment each other,
sometimes no matter how good we smell, people would not compliment it, as it might lead to misunderstanding

personally for me, and i didnt bs this up,

in my office i have like 3 malay ladies and 1 pinoy lady complimenting on this perfume...

1st malay lady finds it yummy..
2nd find it nice and sweet
3rd just like how the perfume evolves, her own word is gourmandish

pinoy lady loves it...even asked me what brand and have a hard time explaining the name to her..hence i told her in english translation

our french interns says la nuit de le homme loosely means "the night of the man" and it sexy translation, means the men is gonna get some tonight....

another tacky perfume name which is quite interesting is, musc ravegeur - frederic malle, you can google it, she told me it means something dirty...hehehe

if you like gourmandish perfume, you can look at chanel allure p.h or sensual too.. if you dont mind...

i had a stranger that asked me in a bus, whats the perfume i am using and she thinks it smells great..

however do go for fragrance sniffing first & try it on skin, as different scent will work on different skin types..

No, mostly I stay indoor. Except going out for breakfast and lunch. But over here in Penang, when it comes to hotter season - the heat was really unbearable. I'm afraid it will get really cloying. 6-8 shots? Wow. I don't dare to spray over 3 shots on my skin for sweet type fragrances. I get headache pretty easily. I think my choice goes for EDT rather EDP La Nuit.

Yes, I'm into gourmand frags aswell. How about Chanel Allure Homme Sport? Heard that based on reviews, it get creamy lemonade drydown. Sounds temptive. You were right, in our culture it's hard to get compliments from others. Even though it does smells good, people's only give a hard cold look. Didn't dare to speak up and ask.

Thanks for the response. I hope that you could focus on designer frags in your daily scent. At least for now. If you don't mind. smile.gif

You know, what's good about french advertisement - is they are really particular in way to describe the fragrance itself. Another example.

lol, dont worry about getting too cloying, since they wont compliment about nice perfume, i doubt they would complain about getting slightly cloying too =P

Channel Allure Homme Sport is nice too.. well for me it doest last as what i expected.. but the dry down is nice..

hehe

Today's scent of the day is user posted image

Woody Woody Woody, dry down is slight vanilla-ish...

It smells like Thierry Mugler A-Men, but instead of sweet vanilla, imagine wood+vanilla...

i sprayed this early afternoon, now is 10:30pm still can get slight whiff of it..

I had interesting session today, there is a place in Singapore which they provide essential oils, perfumes that they made themselves.., home products and custom perfume if you are interested, they also have very nice perfume bottles as well,

the nice people there actually provide some information about perfumes, how its composed, sampling of some raw notes, and actual ambergris and also oud...

the jasmine that is produced raw doesnt smell anything like synthetic jasmine..

you will be surprised how much they would spend on the marketing and advertising the product... rather than the the product - ingredient vs cost.

Well, worst thing can ever happen is they will start pinching their nose and running away. laugh.gif
I should be worried if it's too cloying because I can't stand myself either. Headache will seeps in soon after. sad.gif

Borneo 1834, how much does it cost you? Woody vanilla seems interesting note in there.

You're really lucky. Happen to get involved with interesting session. Hell, you should buy a bottle or two from that place. biggrin.gif

Surely they are, though only for 30 sec ads.

I'm currently reading it, thanks.

Where exactly usually do you spray for 6-7 times?

Haha, so that I'm the only one who suffered from cloying, while other people around me will enjoy the scents? laugh.gif

I thought you own them all. Well, decants wasn't that bad. You get to try different type of frags for free. biggrin.gif

Well, thanks for inviting. Sure thing, if i'm not too busy. smile.gif

two on each side of chest, one on the neck(optional), two sides of fore-arm, two on wrist(optional) and two or one on shirt(near to the collar)..

Well i do own some of them, but sometimes i would ask politely for decants that those that i am really interested in, bear in mind those are quite pricey..and it would be best to judge after 2-3 wearings so that you can have a better idea on how the would mix with your body...

its best to find the type of salespeople who truely understand that selling perfume is not all about making a quick sale,

its always nice to find those that will offer free decants for you to test first, if you are uninterested in getting that perfume, its always nice to be back there and offer why you think it didnt fit your requirements, instead of pretending not seeing them..at least they wouldn't perceive you as a free-loader... LOL
if you are in western countries like in US, they would just offer it to you as its part of the marketing of a products, so you get bunch of "free-loaders" that would just goto H&M etc.. and collect samples and then rant them online..

anyway

My Scent of the day,

Clean..like a luxury soap, those soap you will most probably find in conrad or fullerton..

er.. Amouage's line...
does it worth the $$ for the ml vs longevity

anyway i've smelled Amourage Gold... quite frankly i dont find the bang for the buck for it, i can always loook for alternatives that is 200% cheaper than that..and it last quite the same..

and certain line is quite the "keling" or arabic feel, in which you can find the almost the same smell as those essential oil you will find in an arab street..

to an untrained nose, your $400 ultra niche perfume would smell just as the same as a $40 per 50ml essential perfume..

why not save the budget and find something more uniquely done..at least to an untrained nose, it smells something unique, weird, unable to relate to anything..

That's overwhelming. At least for myself. I won't mind if it's close to skin type scent. But if not, I wouldn't dare to spray that much. Maybe I will goes one on the chest, two on the neck, two on the forearm. Depends on which frags though.

As far as the people I've met, most SA in here are not really understand in selling frags. They will give you a cold look if you're test it and not buying the frags. Don't even bother to ask for free vials.

Heard this one before, how long does the soapy scent lingers? And what about the drydown?
