QUOTE(theandy95 @ Feb 27 2013, 02:07 PM) Can't I ask such a question? If you are familiar with something, doesn't mean everyone is familiar with it too. I have never bought perfumes from department stores before, so is it wrong to ask something first before going there? I know I can check it out myself, but I couldn't ask here first, could I? Why, what do you lose if I ask that here? Your money? Hey lets not get out of hand here. We are here for appreciation of fragrance, not start flaming. Lets all cool it down a notch.Let's just say I don't go often to shopping malls. And yes I have watched it, quite long time ago. What's that got to do with what I'm asking? The frags that you are looking for is in the cosmetics section. Usually there is no segregation of couters for fragrance. They cater for both male and female. If you want to safe a few bucks, you can get it from a few forumers here like wazzap. Happy hunting. |

QUOTE(kelthuzad @ Mar 1 2013, 07:01 PM) i dunno if u have smelled pure havane, animale animale is similar ONLY in the opening notes and it stays pretty linear throughout, pure havane develops into something really smooth, the honey notes is good.i dont think its fair to compare them other than the opening notes only Interesting. For me, Pure Havane's magic comes after the top notes are gone. You get a very smooth dominant vanilla supported by tobacco, honey and cherry like notes. |

QUOTE(edwardleong @ Mar 30 2013, 09:19 PM) you are utmost welcome This one gets hammered by critics for being generic. But fragrance don't have to be complex to smell good. Very pleasant and definitely a scent for office use. |

QUOTE(kelthuzad @ Apr 3 2013, 02:41 PM) Bro edward,DHI and LIDGE are 2 different thing.i enjoy both the regular l'instant and also the extreme version. LIDGE is different from DHI indeed. I find DHI to be easier to wear. The anise in LIDGE makes it a little sour. When i tested lidge i keep picturing starwberry flavoured chocolate.Btw theres a warehouse sale at pearl international hotel by prestige company till friday, been there 4-5 times already, the range they have.......same old same old, boring.for the 1st timer,u will be happy,do check it out |

QUOTE(bigbangformula @ Apr 8 2013, 08:32 PM) Just Parfum in Mid Valley or Sunway Pyramid, do they sell genuine perfumes? My personal take on La Nuit is that it is an awesome scent but I find it hard to pull it off in hot weather. One question: Anyone use YSL La Nuit here and is it suitable for daily perfume to wear for work/uni? |

QUOTE(bigbangformula @ Apr 9 2013, 03:43 PM) It's more of a night scent(fall/winter frangrance) is it that's why it's hard to pull off in our hot weather unless we only wear it out at night? Yes precisely. I find la nuit to be quite intense. But if I have more chance/occasion to use it I would buy it, no question. |

QUOTE(bigbangformula @ Apr 9 2013, 04:45 PM) Ok how about Burberry London vs Armani Code? Which would u pick for daily perfume? It is hard for us to recommend when you have not stated your preference.Or personally, what do u use for everyday use? For hot weather outdoorsy category, try Issey Miyake L'eau D'Issey for citrus fresh, or Lacoste Essential for green fresh or Bvlgari Aqva for aquatic freshness. For cooler weather you have tons of choices, La Nuit, A*Men, DHI, Le Male, 1 Million. For me I usually stick to 2-3 sprays. It is subtle and people only detect when they are close tome. Anything more then I start to get unfavourable comments from colleagues. |

QUOTE(bigbangformula @ Apr 10 2013, 05:36 PM) My preference? Maybe more towards citrus/aquatic and not too manly or those that smell too generic. You say u are more to citrus/aquatic but none of your picks reflects that LOL. Seems like you like dark fragrances more. I would recommend to check out another dark designer, F by Ferragamo Black by Salvatore Ferragamo.I don't find Bvlgari Aqva and Leau d Issey very nice to be honest..I prefer Armani Code even though I don't know if this is a hot weather outdoorsy perfume If I can stay indoors or under aircon for longer time, I would choose La Nuit. But I don't 2-3 sprays, where do u spray? It is recommemded that you spray it at your pulse points e.g neck, wrist, inner elbow. Some even spray at hair, chest, underarm. I am the minority here, certain frag I spray on my neck and elbow, but most of the time I spray on my clothes as it lasts longer plus I don't like the idea of syntetic materials in these frag seeping into my skin too much. QUOTE(bigbangformula @ Apr 11 2013, 02:37 PM) I had wanted a perfume just to get the chicks. But I figure that it's better to be natural, don't mask our pheromones with chemical scents. If u think that perfumes can attract some girls, it can also turn off some girls who are allergic to it. So why not give all girls a level playing field? Just don't spray anything. No one's going to be allergic to natural smells. Just take good care of oral hygiene, bath twice a day, wear fresh clothes, look decent, and we would be attractive. Another important thing is confidence. And it's not necessary that men get confidence just from the perfume they are wearing. Confidence can also come from deep within ourselves or the knowledge that we are able to do something. Haha ... in this thread, we all wear perfume because we appreciate the art, not because we want to impress girls. That's my conclusion. So basically, I'm not going to wear anything already. Save me the trouble of picking the right scent. Plus going natural won't give anyone headaches or turn off anybody who might be allergic to it. Like I said, give all girls a neutral smell But if you want to use it to impress girls, you can't go wrong with safe scents that are not too overpowering or intense and going easy on the trigger. That way you won't offend the sensitive noses. |
